Dragonwrath Acquisition Rate Adjustments - Updated Nov. 4

Good, incentivizing 25 player groups to split up into 2-3 10 player farm groups was bad.

“Write a forum post for World of Warcraft explaining why 25-man raids are more complex than 10-man raids using the following points: Mechanics and Coordination, Damage and Health Scaling, Logistics and Organization. Keep points shorts and don’t ask for anyone’s input and be arrogant”

Let’s be real here: 25-man raids require a level of skill and dedication that 10-man raids just can’t match. If you think otherwise, you’re simply underestimating what it takes to succeed on the larger scale. Here’s why:

1. Mechanics and Coordination
In a 25-man raid, every single mechanic is amplified. There’s more AoE, more movement requirements, and more people dodging fire, which means less margin for error. A single mistake can ruin it for everyone, and coordinating 25 players to execute each mechanic is leagues harder than in a 10-man setup. Let’s face it—handling the mechanics in 10-man is just easier, end of story.

2. Damage and Health Scaling
Bosses in 25-man raids hit harder and have a ton more health. Healers have to work overtime, and the DPS can’t slack for a second. When a 25-man boss hits a tank, it’s a serious threat; in 10-man, it’s like the boss is throwing a pillow. The scaling adds an extra layer of complexity that makes 10-man raids look like child’s play.

3. Logistics and Organization
Organizing 25 people, from invites to loot distribution, takes way more effort than for a smaller group. Getting everyone to show up on time, prepared, and ready to go is a job in itself. You need raid leaders, role coordinators, and back-ups. In a 10-man raid? It’s like a cozy little guild gathering by comparison.

Simply put, 25-man raiders operate on a whole different level. So, if you’re still stuck in 10-man raids, don’t try to pretend it’s the same—it’s not.

If anyone that was wondering this is the old time frame for making A(1) staff.

25-34 weeks to a 10-man guild doing Normal mode bosses;
15-8 weeks to a 10-man guild doing Heroic mode bosses;
11 weeks to a 25-man guild doing Normal mode bosses;
9-10 weeks to a 25-man guild doing Heroic mode bosses;

But they are still upset about it!!!

Yo, for all the 10man raiders. Is it possible to collect 1000 cinders in one run like in 25 man? Have anyone tried it yet?

No, they seem to be dropping around 70-80 on average.

I got 520 in a full clear. Ill be lucky to finish it in 2 weeks.

oh no a legendary that takes 2 weeks to complete. What a bummer!

You clearing 10 or 25man? Because in a 25man i was able to clear all 3 parts in 3 weeks on my mage

Reading comprehension not strong with this one

Yes and its factual

While I credit your math here, the principal however is faulty. You are basically giving/solving for X in a insolvable equation. Simply because you formulated a inconclusive conclusion of.

You literally made this scenario up and you can test/prove it yourself.

Also this again doesn’t make sense, you are further misbalancing it if you do this…

For starters no one would code the way you mentioned as it requires more coding/lines with math equations vs much less work for 6 per 25 man raid and 2 per 10 man raid.

Lastly i looked at this mathematically as well and simply adding a 50% drop rate for a 3rd item per boss would make an exact balance. Your math is on point im sure you can come to this conclusion yourself.

I personally 8 manned beth and had the same gear drops, went to aq40(2 chars 40 man raid) on my hunter in cata classic. Not to mention the hundreds of gdkps/old expansion raids ive run for old good trinkets/transmog with like 12/25 in a raid.

I saw one staff already pop up today earlier.

I guess it was a 25 man I guess is it that time already? 10 mans maybe are about to start the cinders quest or on the quest before if their guild dont want to wipe constantly?

25man takes about 3 weeks to complete the staff quest if you dont get a idiot play who doesnt pick up the following quests and then kills a boss without being on the quest then setting everyone else back 1 boss kill (which is one extra week longer)

how does the Delegation/Charged Foci skip work? the person who got it last week on my 10m group says they don’t have anything in their bags anymore so how do they open it again for future people? do they just walk up to the portal and it automatically opens?

yes that is exactly how it works.
