Because then he wouldn’t get gear obscenely fast
I just have a raid group that I raid every week with and have for a long time. Why should we have to split into 2 groups and drop 5 people or recruit more people to do splits? And acting like you get geared faster is also really that true. You get more loot sure, but half the time its doubles or triples of things we see every week, we have tons of loot we have never even seen drop the entire Tier. On top of having 2.5x as many people to geear.
The only people who think this is a good change are people who only do 10 mans, your qualm is with Blizzard, not with 25 man groups. If you want more loot, you can do that, you raid as 25 as intended.
So do it, boo hoo you have slightly worse acquisitions rates on one item for one slot that only some of your raid uses and vastly better chances for everything else.
Your post is a beautiful example why when 10 man players were told to “be grateful for what we have”, that that statement doesn’t go both ways
You say you have to participate in splits. says who? Like in the same vein that if we wanted more gear you think we should change our playstyle. or not. If you want more staffs change your play style. Or don’t. nobody has to do anything
And the fact that you are ungrateful for your duplicate/triplicate items when 10 mans haven’t seen a single unique drop of the things you scoff at shows how disconnected and privileged you are. It’s another reason that people do not have sympathy for 25 mans
The only people who think this is a good change are people who only do 10 mans,
it’d be a good change if they gave 10 man 3 items also maybe, it doesn’t make much sense as it is
unless the idea of it is to balance out the last 6 months of 10 man having only 2 items vs 25 man
it doesn’t really solve the problem of 10 man long term but its nice for them for now
I have spoken to a bunch of 25 mans recently and they seem to be just adding 10 mans if they need more staves, rather than disbanding their 25 mans over it
I’ve seen a few 10 man gdkps popping up too, splitting a staff 10 ways is nicer than splitting 25 ways
I think its already close to a questline legendary tbh
I’m also not convinced that very many 25 mans are running 9 casters

That’s certainly an option and super min/max oriented groups likely have enough alts to make it work with 25 mans and 10 mans.
Another thing is, usually when you want to use alts they have to be at least somewhat good but the option to bail on any heroics giving you trouble and not hurt the staff drop rates means you could run it all on normal if you needed to
10 mans shouldn’t be able to acquire the same loot as 25 mans. Just as in previous expansions. This just shows how disconnected and privleged you are.
And seeing as how the staff is used the entire Xpac and not just the phase.
I’m sorry to be the one to tell you this, but acting like you are this god among men because you can play 25 man cataclysm is a fraction of the skill it takes to play any other form of wow that follows it (including future 10 man raiding)
The fact that there are plenty of 25 mans (including yours) that are planning to break down to 10 mans shows how fragile your relationship to 25 man raiding is. I raid 10 man because i’m passionate about building small, tight-knit relationships and having fun with a handful of my friends each week. if your only goal in this game is to get loot the fastest way possible, and staffs the fastest way possible where does it end? Content will always come out and make your imaginary gear useless. It’s clear throughout this thread that you guys don’t really enjoy what it means to be a 25man if rewards are put to the side. and that’s sad. I wouldn’t want to spend 12 weeks with someone in such an informal way.

insane opinion tbh
This just shows how disconnected and privleged you are.
i think 10 mans not being able to get heroic level loot is pretty disconnected, not sure how i’m privileged by 10 man getting loot, i primarily play in 25 mans and have ran a 25 man guild for nearly all of classic
Its hilarious isnt it, for months these same trolls have spammed ‘git gud run 25m lmao’.
So, to you all: Git gud run 10m lmao
this is crazy, 10man might be easier but some of you people think 25man is extremely more difficult or borderline impossible compared to 10man ((its not))

It’s entirely based on 25 mans are harder to organize, something that most players in 10 or 25 man will never have to deal with.
NGL bro have you ever tried recruiting for a 10 man with not only GDKPs walking around, but just structured 25mans where you know gear will fall into your recruit’s lap. It’s unreal how little people want to do 10 mans with the alternatives laying around
Go to your server’s discord and look at the looking for guild postings and how many people specify 25man vs 10 man
Exactly. Not to mention needing specific specs to cover buffs.
25M can have like 4 mages lol. Its really not as simple as 15 less people.
Its very hard to find some specs. While 25M can have dupes of the common dps specs (which of course are the S tier ones anyway).
Like recruiting mutiple priests, ele sham, mages, and unholy dks to fill that extra roster space isnt that hard
unholy dks are the hardest spec in the entire game to recruit, its more likely you are able to recruit classes that aren’t powerful to stack in 10 man, like rogues, hunters, mages, frost dks, warriors
Not sure why they would be the hardest to recruit since they are the best melee dps in the game. Must be because cata is a caster expac. Watch all the rogues come out in P3 for there daggers.
alliance unholy dk is a fair amount weaker than horde, also the spec isn’t very popular, its a snapshotting pet spec, its fairly hard to play by classic standards
Yeah well unholy has always been a snapshotting class.
Plus horde is the PvE master faction.
Alliance is the PvP master faction.

UPDATED November 4
We’ve heard your feedback loud and clear! We’re happy that you’re excited about the recent changes to 10-player Dragonwrath acquisition rates and we want to address those who prioritize 25-player groups. We’re are increasing the acquisition rates of all quest materials in 25 Normal and Heroic difficulties:
- During a 12-week period, a 25-player group killing all 7 bosses in Firelands each week can expect to fully assemble 7.5-11.25 Legendary Dragonwrath staves.
- During the same 12-week period, a 10-player group killing all 7 bosses can expect to fully assemble 3-4.5 Legendary staves.
- Acquisition rates in 25-player raids are now approximately 2.5x faster than those of 10-player raids.
- The updated acquisition rates previously mentioned for 10 player raids are the same.
- We’re adding a second guaranteed mount, the Smoldering Egg of Millagazor, to 25-Heroic Ragnaros.
