So for many years now, I haven’t seen the “Rallying Cry of the Dragonslayer” in Stormwind. Regularly, it hits Org, but never SW.
(I had assumed it’s just that Alliance is too busy defending its SW auctioneers, to go out and kill the dragon, whereas Org auctioneers were un-targetable.)
So, is there a lore reason why Alliance can’t kill this dragon and get the buff? Seems odd that way.

On retail I am not even sure the buff even works anymore outside of affecting the npc that takes the head for the quest.
Half a dozen Alliance servers, and this never happens. Something else going on, and you don’t get it.

OP is just not of the dragonslaying league.
When I was farming for my ony drake on my blood elf I would turn the head in and see the turn in person buffed but not me. This was back in WoD.
Yeah some npcs get it and some don’t. It’s weird but it does still go off.

So, screenshot? Show me a recent screenshot of any Alliance PC or NPC that has the DS buff.
Edit: or even the Cry going on in channel.

I don’t have any alts on Alliance that can get the item that haven’t done it already. Level up and do it yourself. GL
I am confused. You are the one trying to prove that Alliance can get the buff so wouldn’t you want to find that info on your own?
So, you reallly don’t know what’s happening or not happening Alliance-side in recent years? And you’re just running your mouth. It’s not just the buff that is never seen. You never even hear the ‘Cry’ in channel. No announcement in the city. Nothing.

The buff works, it just requires someone to turn in the quest head item.
Which what likely happens is that no one’s doing onyxia or nefarian for the first time anymore, and there’s no heads to turn in.
Not that it really matters anymore, it doesn’t effect anyone that is past “Vanilla” level. Back in the day it could be a game changing buff, but now it just makes leveling a little easier for a short bit.
