Any reasoning behind the attack power buff not stacking with ranged attack power? I know…this was in vanilla…just curious if anyone knows why this was designed this way.

Almost every +attack power buff does not benifit ranged attack power.
Dire maul tributes buff doesn’t help hunters either.
This is why hunters are behind in dps early on, and is why hunters will be even farther behind when our scaling issue starts to really show (it’s only just started to show with BWL gear)
You could say the same thing for casters. For example, classes with a lot of dots hardly benefit at all from the buff. Why isn’t there also a spell power and healing buff to match the attack power buff?
BoM, Dire Maul Buffs, Ony buffs and a few other attack power buffs that only work for melee (even tho some just say attack power and not melee attack power) .
Not so sure if you noticed but Blizz HATES Hunters.
Why do you think Nef BRAKES our ranged weapon for our class call?
They could’ve just forced us to melee but no, they wanted to give us a durability bill.
They only made hunters as a joke class and they know it.

Caster classes get a hit chance buff from DMT and the crit chance still helps them a lot, they also benifit from Mana regen world buff as they can downrank less.
Casters will also have better itemization than hunters and scale better.
By naxx hunter scaling gets so bad that we start to lose to hybrid dps…

You can swap to a broken weapon prior to the call…
I never said you couldn’t?
You can remove your bow with a dummy bow then change back furring the class call…
Oh, I agree that hunters could scale better. I’m just saying there’s a lot of holes in the way Blizzard chose to itemize and buff.

Everyone said this about mages back in the day.
On the other hand, hunter class call is literally the ONLY class call that has no potential to wipe your raid or at the very least get people killed. It’s a personal inconvenience tbh.
That’s my point. I get that you can just unequip or swap out your weapon. What I was getting at is the INTENT behind the mechanic. Its as if they couldn’t come up with anything for hunters to do during the call.

If you think it’s bad now just wait for all the sweaty tryhards to have all AQ/Naxx gear with all them buffs. Warriors were already kings in a version of the game where people didn’t bother going to crazy lengths to get world buffs, now imagine what it’ll look like when you have a Naxx geared warrior doing it.
Ask rogues how they feel about how their class call works for them if the tank isn’t quick enough or they immediately get cleaved.
Can’t paladins just BoP the rogues?
