Dragons dogma 2

it is a popular new fantasy adventure person game. Have you played it? What are your thoughts?

I played the first one briefly many years ago. As I recall I stopped playing it because the writing was kinda stilted and silly. But I don’t know a lot about the games.

Some people are mad that the new one has micro transactions but the actual game seems well-liked when you get past that.

Please post your character’s face if you have played this game

What should we do if we haven’t played the game.

I want to post Enekie’s face.

Micro transactions aside the game has fundamental performance issues (killing all the npcs helps). A lack of restarting the game without jumping threw a million hoops of cloud settings and many more. Take all that out and the game is a decent 6-7/10. Not bad but nothing to write home about.

Don’t acknowledge that I’m not wearing my mask.

I prefer to wait for sales with newer games, in part because I feel most AAA games are overpriced considering the quality of the experience they provide. I assume Dragon’s Dogma 2 is good enough, though. I’d be happy to find it’s at least as good as the first game.

Addendum:

A bit extraneous, but I plan to do the same Ghost of Tsushima, mainly because I simply refuse to pay full retail price for a game that came out 4 years ago.

real interesting to monetize the idea of easy mode

In that case please discuss two of your favorite dragons or dogmas, or in Vanndrels case your Morrowind character as Morrowind is my favorite game and I like hearing people talk about it

So I’m doing an RP run this go around. Everyone knows the basic plot of Morrowind, how your character fulfills the prophecy of being the reincarnation of Indoril Nerevar but it’s entirely possible not to be an actual reincarnation…so I tweaked it a bit.

My latest character was born on a certain day, under a certain sign (The Lady), to uncertain parents. They were Orsimer, outcast Orcs, barely able to drag themselves to the new Orsinium and certainly couldn’t with a newborn, so the mother left him in the care of an Orphanage in the Imperial City.

She was of common means, but she was literate, and while she couldn’t bring her child to her new life with her, she decided to give him an auspicious and very un-Orsimer name. The title of an ancient king she read in a book at one point. Dumalacath. (She liked the -alacath part because it would hopefully keep Malacath’s attention on her child despite the unconventional name).

Well, fate and the gods (and Daedra) were feeling decidedly impish on that day. Because as Dumalacath was born, in the province of Daggerfall the Numidium as activated and the Dragon broke. And something was set free.

Dumac, ancient king of the Dwemer, and longtime friend of Indoril Nerevar did not so much awake as slowly become aware of his surroundings. That’s the problem with Reincarnation - you’re never wholly who you used to be. But he had a sense as he (now and again referred to as Dumalacath) stepped foot onto the island of Vvardenfell that the time was nigh to avenge the death of a friend whose name he couldn’t quite remember, and discover the fate of a people he long felt had been lost.

Currently Dumalacath has just joined the Imperial Cult, having hit a bit of a crossroads with the Fighter’s Guild (His current contract involves killing a Magistrate in the heart of Ebonheart, so the Cult gives him a means to scout the target, and he can’t get to Sadrith Mora for different contracts easily on account of a…misunderstanding…with the Mage’s Guild that sees him incapable of utilizing their services for a week). There’s an Ashlander in Ald’ruhn he needs to talk to about the Nerevarine prophecies but those prophecies unsettle him as much as his dreams presently are.

Orc custom class, with a bit of a spellblade focus. First time I’m really “exploiting” Morrowind’s leveling system a bit to squeeze as many levels out as possible by taking more utility skills like Mysticism and Enchant.

Hm. I feel like I should at least try to stick to WoW…

I do respect Malygos for having an opinion that mortals couldn’t be trusted with magic and tried to start stuff–because that’s not an unfounded accusation. But I think he got retconned to where Old Gods did it?

Second, I’d say Aronus–the green drake that flies you into Mt. Hyjal in Cataclysm. Because the voice actor sincerely sounds so distressed when he sees Ragnaros burning things, I couldn’t help but admire that enthusiasm.

Outside of WoW, I think I want to say Smaug and Bahamut.

This is cool. The orc aspect of Dumac was always intriguing and sort of mysterious, since it is never fully explained. If you are a utility-magic-using spellsword please allow me to self plug and link the alteration jumping and flying mod I made I think its fun to double jump in morrowind

My favorite wow dragons are:

  • That lady who is stuck in a tree in ruby sanctum. It is a funny line, saying, “help, I’m trapped in a tree”. I’m not sure if she has other personality characteristics other than being trapped in a tree, but I am sure that, if such characteristics exist, they are similarly humorous

  • My netherwing drake. I don’t remember any of the netherwing drakes as actual characters but I like it as a mount because it looks kinda fishy like a shark

As for my favorite dogmas I don’t know. I watched the Kevin Smith film Dogma when I was like 15 but I don’t really remember it. Overall I am not a big fan of dogmas: try to be more practical and flexible in your stances. Come on dragons. Don’t have a dogma

Would if I could. I refunded the game the day after launch out of impulse. At the time I wasn’t keen on yet another Capcom game shoving micro-transactions down the throat of single player game. And my PC’s specs are beginning to dull, regardless of the games own built-in performance issues, so the game wasn’t running too well for me even on all low settings. Once performance patches set in, I get a new GPU and CPU for my end, and the game goes on discount, I’m definitely repurchasing the game. I’m putting the $70 elsewhere till then. I 100% completed Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen a few years ago and enjoyed it well enough. I hope to explore #2 much the same, eventually.

Until then all that’s on my table is a little bit of Plunderstorm, Helldivers 2, and Genshin Impact every day for daily quests/orders/commissions. Maybe some WoW RP sprinkled in as well. I hope Season 4 starts up soon. :dracthyr_yay_animated:
