Dragons bigger than the Aspects?

Are there dragons bigger than the Aspects other than Galakrond? There are bones all over the world like in dragonblight/tanaris/and even the dig in the azurespan that are way bigger than the aspects.

I’m sure there were. Even the war of the scale born novel details how some of the followers who led armies on both sides were impressive in how big and ancient they were

Wait, are those dragon bones? I for some reason thought they were supposed to be giant serpent bones but I don’t think I paid them much mind.

Is my theory that Azeroth hosts a secret species of massive mage-snakes all founded on a base of lies??

What if they’re flying mage snakes wearing little top hats?!

Massive serpent dragons perhaps?

… That’s a lot cuter looking in my head then it should be…

It sounded cute typing it :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

It’s kind of a mix. Tanaris contains some dragon bones, but also some serpent bones as well as some kodo skeletons that are far larger than any actual living kodos.

I’ve long speculated that there might have been a prehistoric time period on Azeroth where exceptionally gigantic beasts inhabited the planet (a sort of ā€œage of giantsā€), perhaps during the rampant growth of the primordial jungles that spread all over Ancient Kalimdor after the Old Gods’ defeat.

Such a thing could perhaps even explain the Dead Goliaths in Desolace, as well as the kodo graveyard there containing some skeletal remains that are far too massive to have come from any modern-day kodo, and the presence of huge petrified snake skeletons submerged off the coasts of several zones.

Ha-HA!! I knew it wasn’t all in my head!!

We’re in the same head space, Raselle. There are an awful lot of giant mystery skeletons around the world, and I was thinking similar to you; there’s some missing/unmentioned prior time of rampant giantism in the past, or alternatively, gigantic versions of Azerothian creatures live somewhere in the Emerald Dream and sometimes escape into Azeroth.

Or perhaps they could be the remains of other, less documented cases of creatures being afflicted similarly to Galakrond by localized pockets of lingering Old God corruption, causing them to also become massively overgrown and have to be put down by the titan-forged or the Dragonflights.

Looking at the Aspects new models side by side with Vyranoth I can see it easy being proto dragons or Dragons being bigger than the Aspects.

Not to mention how huge Chromatus of the chromatic dragonflight could have been with all does heads! So like others said its possible…

I’d say it’s a case of Cope’s rule, however that’s natural evolution and not the creationism based psudo-evolution that Warcraft’s universe uses.

Though also I’d argue that it’s possible some of the older proto-dragons could have just been better fed, some animals never seem to stop growing, just slowing down in their rate of growth over time as they age.

Pythons are one of the few animals for example with an unlimited growth potential. It just depends on how much food they have access too

In WoW, we call that Unlimited Human Potential.

Oh dear, and since it always consumes the story, it never stops….

Oh the inhumanity of it all! :dracthyr_crylaugh:

When referring to the all-consuming humanity I believe, Karebear, you meant to say…

Oh the humanity, it is all!!

Raszageth is clearly a bit bigger than alex, but I think no other dragon( besides chromatus and daddy galak) has shown to be bigger than Deathwing in his last moments.

Sugar daddy neltharion clearly knew how to threw a party and get mad at his friends

Blizzard seems to have forgotten Chromantus. Not including him in Dragonflight was a huge missed opportunity.

I want to see what the snake skeletons of desolace looked like while alive.

Has anyone played Subnautica? These long extinct fossils of leviathans that make everything else look tiny, scattered about to let you know that as bad as things are right now, they could have been worse.

I feel like that is a bit more of an interesting history than space robots making everything. Maybe that can be part of the Life expansion, making creatures way too big to fit into the ā€˜system.’ I’m just rambling now!
