I do not sugar coat things. I see people hyping up DR and then I try it and I am like what is up with the hype?
Sure, some people like DR but for me it is not my cup of tea. But the fact of the matter is there is no opt out options with DR and that is going to cause a lot of friction from my view.

This is their baby. But I love dragonriding. Tried it in the beta and it is super fun.

There’s no way to opt out because it is the major feature of the expansion. That’s the whole point of an expansion feature.

Yeah since people keep telling me that DragonRiding is superior than normal flying in every other way then normal flying should be released in 30 days.

I love dragonriding but I am also 100% pro-flying and always have been. It’s so much fun, especially when it’s fully upgraded. I get that some people don’t like it but you are severely hampering yourself if you don’t want to use it. You’ll have to adapt I guess, or play a different game

No reason slow flying can’t exist alongside DR. Not many will use it, but those that can’t use DR will at least not be gimped by Blizz ignoring an accessibility issue.

I’m pretty sure ground mounts work just fine in DF. Looking at how the dragonriding always seems to be moving forward with no hover Just bopping around on a standard mount might be easier for gathering to some extent.

For all story specific places there’s ways around it or to just use DR as a short boost to jump over ravines

I think most folks who complain about it just to complain about it are silly, but you do you, and you can play DF without using DR more than on I want to say like two or three places, to reach optional areas

Hire somebody to fly you where you want to go.
They said normal flying might make its way here eventually. But dragonriding is faster in every way.
I tried in beta but there is no reasonable way with how the terrain is designed. DR is mandatory because of that alone.

Many reasons and honestly there doesn’t have to be reasons spelled out. Let people choose is my motto which is what player agency should be about.
DR is mandatory and not much way to opt out right now so we hope they changed their minds in the near future.
