Dragon/Normal Flying to have a 5 second toggle

Eh, kind of agree. 5 sec seems a bit much tbh, 2 sec would be ideal. I usually dont use my dragonriding mount unless i want to go somewhere far, having to change it all the time would be a bit annoyng.

Same. I was hoping there would either be a static flight macro, or be able to combine it into switching, start mounting, and switch back all in the same button.

Cooldown means getting stuck in the wrong flight mode and needing another weakaura for something that shouldn’t be so awkward to display.

If there are separate explicit toggle-off and toggle-on commands that can be macro’d in then I have no problem. That’s a bigger coding hurdle than ditching the swap cd though, so if it does not already exist then the odds of it getting implemented are extremely tiny.

When something works fine and is changed to be inferior, it should be criticized. Enough of the “you people will complain about anything” straw man apologism.

Thought you muted it

5 seconds is an absolute nothing to wait. Actually try waiting 5 seconds before you complain about it lest this turn into another follower dungeon debacle where people complained about the 10/day limit before realizing that follower dungeons sucked and required playing for 3+ hours to reach that limit.

Absolutely hilarious.

maybe find a second mount that doesn’t support dynamic riding and have that bound to a different key, which i’m guessing is what you do now? like my ‘summon favourite mount’ is bound to the D key on all my characters, so it summons a dragonriding mount in dragonriding zones, but I keep my otterworldly ottuk bound to shift+d in case i need to swim/pick something up.

rn it looks like the flying/swimming fusion mounts are not dynamic flight enabled, so the Wonderous Wavewhisker from the 6 month sub/shop and the otterworldly ottuk carrier are - at this stage - going to be slow flying by default. i would imagine the n’zoth fish added to the trading post in the upcoming months will be as well, so keep some tenders handy to invest in those.

And for those of us who are completely boycotting the Glider Racing minigame, it won’t make any difference.

You can’t change something that’s not even in the game yet, so you’re literally creating problems before any exist. “Apologism”. Give me a break. It’s 5 seconds. Grow up.

It’s in Alpha

And it’ll be in live, too.

Yes, but I was responding to you directly saying that it doesnt exist yet so why complain.

When it does exist.

I’m glad you’ve retreated back to ‘ok so it exists but its fine’

That’s my plan. Seems like the obvious choice compared to switching flight modes.

Ok, fair, I’ll concede to that.

But the point remains.

It’s 5 seconds.

As long as I can put it on my hotkeys instead of having to open my mount list every time, I’m fine with this.

I get why many people may not be bothered by it and I think that’s fair. I happen to use both in conjunction quite frequently so 5 seconds is enough to basically stop a core gameplay loop I have.

It wasn’t a intended gameplay loop. Their intention is to make you choose one or the other and then let the people who won’t learn to fly correctly either cave in, bite the bullet and join us in the current decade or die of old age.

I’d rather it be a mount setting. Have my drakes set to Dynamic Flight, and my Kitteh set to static flight. Then I can just mount the one I want like I do now.

A 5s switchover is tedious.

Like others, I switch all the time.

You don’t speak for anybody but yourself. Sit back.

It’s very frustrating that they keep wanting to put “friction” in accessibility features. I can dragonride fine in a strait line, and given the speed difference, you are punished for not doing so. But I really need regular flying for more fine control stuff, at least for more than a very brief time. So, I swap all the time.

This also has the side effect that people are going to get mad as the non-dynamic mount they’ve chosen to get around this gets converted. Which doesn’t seem like the reaction you’d want.
