Dragonfliight, flying. Any word?

It absolutely is not. Which is why I’m a fan of dragonriding as opposed to either.

Reading this tells me you have absolutely read nothing about this xpac.

At least, they need to get it going with the gryphon model.

It is borderline criminal that we are in an expansion focused on flying without equitable playable access to the most iconic flying units from the RTS games: the Dragonmaw Orcs atop dragons, and the Wildhammer Dwarves riding their bonded gryphons.

As it should. Literally why I asked because I’ve read absolutely nothing about the xpac. As I said, I haven’t played in several months and haven’t even looked at anything WoW related.

That would be pretty nice. I’ve watched videos and dragon riding does look fun. Just a shame all our flying mounts will be left in the dust. Hopefully they will do something to allow dragon flight with other mounts, although that is a hole can of worms there I think.

Behold, the same type of crowd that finds Pathfinder tedious

What I specifically don’t like about pathfinder is they wait months to even tell you the requirements so you can’t work on any of them. They also never give you a set date it’ll be live, just “sometime in the future.”

So in the last few expansions I’ve played a couple characters to max level to get the story, then stopped playing for several months. Then if I have the urge to play again, I check if flying has been added back to the game yet before I sub.

This is the most anti-“anti-flight” we have seen in an expansion since Mists of Pandaria, and there is a datamined Dragonriding perk that allows “unlimited flight”.

According to dataminers, it looks like they’ve been toying with making existing drake mount models work. I’m guessing that they’re going to be waiting to see how they’re received before doing the lion’s share of the work. It would be a shame to get it working for everything and dump the system entirely in a couple years.

You serious? We’re talking about travel from point A to point B. Its a completely different scenario than doing content. Come on now you can do better than that.

And no, flying and travel do not need to be exciting and gimmicky. They simply need to get you to where you wanna go as quickly or slowly as you like.

Flightpaths exist for you if you want completely disengaged flight.

Yeah no i want to auto run/fly in a straight line and avoid their twisty roundabout and pointless pathing thanks. I would wager so does most of the player base. S

ome no doubt will love dragonriding, great for them, but im going to love seeing how many exactly that is lmao. Especially after regular flight does release how many actually use the crap.

Well they’re guaranteed near 100% player use of the new system with the combination of it being the only option for an unknown length of time and larger zo es than usual. Plenty of justification for getting old mounts updated (which would also improve how the system is viewed by a good number of people)

I am sure they will add the system to all prior mounts in the future.

While that might look okay for any mounts with wings, I don’t think it will go over well for the many that don’t.

Pathfinder has always been basic gameplay. Core reps, explore zones, dailies.

If you had to do more than 1-2 tasks in WoD or Legion to auto-unlock Pathfinder, you simply weren’t playing the game.

Based on Alpha feedback I think the number of players who are going to prefer Dragon Riding will be much higher than you think. Just the fact that it’s sooo much faster than normal flying will make it popular.

No matter how good the system is, those that want the game to play itself will not be satisfied.

And that’s fine.

Them voicing their distaste on the forums is worth a more legitimately engaging experience.

By that logic let’s bring back graveyard run-backs to dungeons too.
It’s not playing as little as possible.
It’s wanting rewarding and engaging game-play.
Vanilla was novel and intriguing. Current retail has moved beyond watching night-elf wisps run past you on the run-back from a BFD wipe.
And if none of that made sense to you then you probably shouldn’t be telling other people how to feel about playing this game…
