You say this but FF14 is going through a lull very similar to WoW during BFA and SL
Honestly, I wish WoW as a whole ended at Legion. EVERY expansion after has been a huge dud and I have 0 faith in the Worldsoul Saga. But, obviously, WoW is their biggest cash cow, so it isn’t ending anytime soon.
Serial escalation with more super duper cosmic level threats just gets tiring. It was nice to come back to a “down to Earth (Azeroth?)” expansion. The story in this one felt connected to the world, unlike Shadowlands.
Tbh it was heavily foreshadowed. The hints were dropped here and there. I for one liked the arc, we got REALLY good music, and Zero is my 2nd fav character below Yshtola.
You can use both, but I prefer RTS because they can develop a lot of things there meanwhile other dev team keeps providing content for WoW and there’s pros / cons for both formats…at this point anything its better that books.
I’d like to see that but well as you can see DF concluded and it feels like a filler
Ye. I liked the lil side stories with quests. Like rescuing baby ducks that get adopted by two dads. Bunch of other nice little “okay take a breath” quests that still had their melancholy in a few places.
We basically undid the divisions of the scaleborn war and the damage that the old gods did to the dragon flights via Deathwing. Both insofar as the loss of their powers being undone, but also all the damage to them as a people.
Which made for a touchy feely kinda expansion. But hey, they had a lot of issues to get through.
Sure, the problem is that the source material didn’t focus a big portion of the storytelling in that kind of issues, Some players expected more hype moments, war, fighting.
sort-of, they have had 3 content patches this year, While taking the extra time to prepare the next story direction. Next xpac coming in the summer.
New continent with entirely new cultures, 2 new classes and a graphics overhaul with the start of that new storyline.
This entire game is a life filler.
Maybe Blizz sits around in a big circle and write up a one word story.
Once upon a sizzling pancake, five perplexed dragon aspects named Flap, Crunch, Munch, Puff, and Tumble embarked on a quest to find the legendary burrito of eternal laughter. Little did they know, the burrito was a mischievous mime with a penchant for salsa dancing. Hilarity ensued as the dragons attempted to salsa their way into the burrito’s good graces, causing a cosmic conga line that echoed through the enchanted nacho realms.
If within the next 2 expansions the dragons get Roflstomped just like Tirion got in Legion, I’ll come back and say that Senti, the level 10 blood elf monk with 2 posts was right.
It was already filler garbage before Chris Metzen went up on the BlizzCon stage and announced The World Soul Saga.
Now it’s even less interesting. Bring on The War Within!
Shadowlands was also a filler… Fixed it for you…
It was a refreshing change of pace. On top of the time skip also gave a little bit more time for stuff to keep brewing back home.
you have to wonder why there is any extreme back and forth. but I guess this is from the same folks who cant make SMALL, MODERATE changes to classes when they need a tweak but have to butcher the things so they have to start from the drawing board again.
Kinda reminds me of that time they COULD have made the loot a rang usable at cata eng 40 when you can make the damned thing, but decided to put the screws to my bank account by making it level 70, lol.
Pointless extremes with this group working on the game. never just a nice, even burn. lol.
Zero’s character arc was wonderful. We’re not even a patch out from the finale and I already can’t wait to see her again.
I’ll admit thought I will miss her hat tipping, that was badass.
Man, remember when everyone kept asking for a “downtime” expansion, then got mad when Blizzard finally delivered a downtime expansion?
Which one? Every expansion has been about a great big baddie threatening azeorth.
