There are many reasons why, but overall the feeling of Dragonflight was more fun and the excitement that led up to it was much greater. They added a new class and race, they added a new form of flying that made traveling much faster and then added it to the old world.
The introductory raid was a lot more diverse and interesting and the class balance seemed to be a bit better and they changed the way you acquired and upgraded gear with the stone/crest system. This expansion didn’t really build anything ontop of that and just kind of coasts on the things that were already established in Dragonflight. All this expansion really has to offer is delves and those get boring quick once you’ve done them all at 8+ difficulty and the only reason people really do them is for vault rewards. They also added a new class which literally no one cares about because it is just a differnt kind of Dwarf.
Lastly the gearing and balancing in TWW is straight up terrible, some classes clearly out perform the others and this most recent balance patch shows they literally don’t know how to balance the game whatsoever. Shamans literally top the charts in DPS in every spec and are also the best healer. Hunters, the class I solely play despite being a pure DPS class are often far behind even Hybrid dps classes such as warrior paladin and shaman. Really leaves a bad taste in my mouth and there honestly just isn’t that much content to do compared to DF.
Hard disagree, TWW is the most fun I’ve had in WoW since Legion. I just wish Azj-Kahet was a proper analogue to Suramar instead of the half-baked whatever that we actually have.
And Shadowlands was an even better expansion than DF. There are many reasons why including, but not limited to Valor for gear, less grind, rep from dungeons, raids and in BGs, weeklies that worked. Etc, etc.
The War Within is like a can of tuna with a rusty cover that you’re scared to open, while Legion being a nice meatball spaghetti that your mom made with love
100% SL was incredibly fun, just most people hate SL not because of gameplay but because of the restrictions.
Alot of people cant differentiate between that though and just say SL bad.
Really though i had more fun in doing dungeons in bfa and sl then i did with df and now tww.
It’s subjective which expac is better than another. All based on the stuff we each like.
I do prefer how they did DF compared to TWW but neither expac is bad, per se.
Just DF had more interesting open world events but that’s just what I think.
Also, it’s still relatively early in the expac so who knows what else they’re going to put in?
I’m already at the point where leveling alts is more fun than focusing on a main, which is the exact opposite of how I usually go about expansions. I usually go all out and try and gear a main.
Not this expansion though. Not really feeling any kind of desire to go back into TWW zones at the moment. It’s not like they’re poorly done or anything, I’m just not feeling it.
For me it was the opposite. Started off great with the Vault of the Incarnates, but then dwindled down to a bunch of “muh family” nonsense with Scalecommander Embrathal. And who even is Saballien anymore?
Not to mention the Little Scalies Daycare center. I don’t want a babysitting simulator in a game about war. Makes zero sense and it’s too damn soft.
I think the Maw was what killed it for many. It was just a slow mess that you would like to avoid, but Blizzard kept forcing you to go for story progression.
Also, the Jailer story that he’s the master mind behind all the events, and it was all a master plan cause he saw some greater threat. So, his course to stop it was to subjugate all of Azeroth.
Dragonflight is my favorite expansion to date, with Legion 2nd. (I’m beyond bored with Vanilla, BC has always been depressing to me, and Wrath was just ok (heresy, I know.)
SL and WoD were the worst and I wish I could erase them from my memory. Their only positives were nice mogs and artwork.
TWW just feels… weird. It’s very claustrophobic and depressing being underground, and the mogs are nothing I want collect so far compared to everything in Dragonfight.
Deleves are fun, but the difficulty levels aren’t consistent from location to location and storyline to storyline. I did a Spiral Weave level 8 earlier tonight which was at the Goldilocks level of challenge for me, while last night I attempted a level 8 Underkeep storyline that I’d no problem with the week before, but I finally had to bail on because the boss turned into an impossibility for me (with better gear.) And because the clock was ticking on reset, I opted to go do a different one at level 6 just to get through it to have my 8 for the Vault.
They’re a great concept, but are going to get boring fast due to the repetition. Having said that, they’re better than dungeons by far simply due to the various storylines at each location. I just wish the rewards were as generous as dungeons. (Same with follower dungeons.)
I feel as though they’re the best means for a solo player to gear to the point I’m only chasing gear and not enjoying the questing and storylines, which seem to have so much potential. I’m especially intrigued by having to make a Pact with a faction (how factions should be), and the Rumors… (Hopefully I’ll let some of that pressure go.)
I wish the hourly Theatre event felt more like the Time Rifts. Maybe I just need to do it more.
I will say there’s a ton of content which is great. I’ve just got to find a better balance for how I play my toons in which content. The main problem is I need the gear to not be squishy and die nonstop while questing. Oh, for more hours in the day…
