That’s a bad excuse since you can pick and join anyone’s key for any dungeon you want.
That’s more in line from what I expect of them.

Your key is a guaranteed group. Applying to others is not.
m0 could literally just be like heroic then with having a daily lockout instead of weekly.
You can apply until you succeed and it does not take even 3 minutes for low/mid level keys, as a DPS, in most cases as of now…
That’s not particularly relevant.
WoW isn’t a job, it’s a game. It also used to be a fun past time but now it’s largely become a chore and the entire M+ system exemplifies that. I shouldn’t need to submit a resume if I want to clean the dishes or vacuum.
Also M+ worked perfectly well in Legion and BfA without any kind of gatekeeping rating system in place. Then it was brought in via third party software and Blizzard implemented into the game with their own system. If I only want to run one or two dungeons I shouldn’t be forced to run them all just to get rating, especially if I don’t need any loot from them.
Then there is the whole timer aspect. It only promotes a reckless playstyle and creates a stressful environment which leads to mistakes which in turn leads to frustration and toxicity. It’s just a bad system.
I have such a bad feeling for this, they will be interacting for sure. Seems like good changes tho.
Neither is your claim.
Why are you entitled to a higher key if you haven’t proven that you can time a lower key?
Called it!
You guys are just making my point for me. Toxic as can be.
P.S. My rating would have been 0 as it was all expansion long if I wasn’t forced to run one of the dungeons this season because of the brokenly overpowered trinket that drops there. As soon as I got it I never set foot in an M+ dungeon again.
Well, M0s will still have a weekly lockout, so the spamming for champion track is now restricted to old +11s or higher.
Huh, so you have a problem with missing out on 1 trinket, but the 5-6 character ilvls worth of just crests available to you in 16s isn’t a problem? Is BiS to 2nd bis trinket really worth more than being 482 instead of 475?
What kind of a circular argument is that. How am supposed to “prove” that I can do a higher one if I can never get invited to one because I don’t have the score? My ilvl should be all that’s required.
The game functioned perfectly fine without a rating system for well over a decade so any argument that claims it’s essential immediately falls flat on its face. But seeing as you’re on your lvl 15 troll account you probably already realize all of this so I am not going to waste my time.
What you’re calling ‘gatekeeping’ is other players simply wanting to see proof of competency. Ilvl doesn’t do that anymore at the level you’re at, since you can get full 476 from heroic dungeons and LFR via crafting, and in group content with numbers/mechanics checks and a failure condition, it’s not unreasonable to expect everyone asking to join to give some indication that they are able to pull their weight.
If you don’t like people making that call, you can either list your own group (where you get to make that call), or play with a group who already knows you. In LFG, All the group leader gets to see is your character name, server, score, class/spec, and ilvl, and they have to use that to decide if they think you give them the best chance of getting what they want out of the run.
Getting that trinket took all of 3 or 4 runs that were well below my gear and skill level. Getting the crests required to upgrade heroic gear to mythic would have taken months of putting myself through that nonsense. It’s just not worth it. The trinket was simply a low hanging fruit.
But you’re right that it is a problem. It’s a problem that Blizzard purposefully designed M+ to be a mandatory supplement to raiding.
By doing lower keys. ilevel is not a good metric. ilevel doesn’t tell me if you’ve done the dungeon before, or what affixes you’ve cleared it on (or not). If you don’t know the fights and routes and aren’t specced to handle whatever affix it is that week, I’m not going to take you over a player who does and is.
I don’t think there’s any game out there that lets you just jump into higher rated content without clearing the lower content first.
World of Warcraft. All content in this game becomes obsolete so insanely fast(looking at raids). You don’t have to do the earlier raids in an expansion, you just skip right ahead. Don’t get me started on carries but that’s a plague in most mmos to some degree.
Again, the rating was not necessary for years and years and people were able to make a decision without it just fine. The only reason it exists at all, especially in the form that it does, is because it forces players to do run all dungeons thus keeping them on the hamster wheel longer. It isn’t in place to make the life of group leaders easier, lol.
Sounds good, can you make M0 queueable I think people will want that. Also the weekly lockout on M0 if my mode is still unlimited that just doesn’t seem fair. Ideally no weekly lockout on M0. While we are here no more weekly lockout on raids below mythic
