EDIT: Phrased things better.
This is the best change I’ve ever seen.
My MAIN concern is the lock out on m0.
Why acknowledge some people want a relaxed environment to earn gear but then say “Those players can only do 8 dungeons a week period.” all the while leaving the unlimited m+ intact.
Just like m+, you aren’t guaranteed gear in m0. So why keep the lockout other than to punish those players?
My other concern is that you had made the new heroic drop veteran gear. Because leaving it at veteran will just create the same exact issue you claim you are trying to fix - Heroic will become irrelevant within a day of hitting max level again.
I understand WHY it’s still veteran 4/8, but if the goal is to make “heroic” Relevant longer than a day after hitting 70, dropping veteran gear won’t fix that.
I also acknowledge you can’t just make them drop champion gear because then m0 is useless.
But something has to be done to keep heroic relevant, past these changes.

Champion gear for no-affix, no-timer ? Or am I confused about what “new heroic” means?
These changes are fantastic, with one caveat: “* Mythic 0 is still on a weekly lockout under this model.”
There’s a large group of people who don’t really like the stress of timers. Depriving those people of running m0 dungeons multiple like how you can run timed keys as much as you want isn’t really equitable. I understand some of the rationale behind it, but overall you should let people run m0 as much as they want, like timed keys.

Oh okay. I must have missed that. Still, half the work for the same reward. Recipe for disaster.

One quick issue; M0 being still a weekly lockout doesn’t work well with this rework. Farming drake crests will be harder than farming Wyrm ones

Exactly.
They acknowledge the new m0 is aimed at a different target than m+, but then say people doing m0 only have 8 chances at gear a week unless they go into other content that blizzard acknowledges they don’t like.
Crests are just an extra reason why it’s bad lol.

so normal mode dungeons, which are NOT getting more difficult, will now give gear equivalent to normal mode Amirdrassil?
lol k.
you guys overinflate this stuff every single expansion and it is always a mistake. we do not need a gear reset every single tier, where trash I find off the ground immediately replaces gear I’ve been working on the last 3-4 months. feels very bad.

The goal is always to get people into M+ more. They’re easing the path, but the final destination is still keys.

If the reason they don’t want you to be able to spam M0 is because there’s no randomness in getting access to a specific one, maybe they should just add a M0 random queue that bypasses the weekly lockout. If they don’t want us to be able to do it with random people like a heroic, they can just say you need 5 people in a premade group to queue for M0 random.

There’s a Sixty Two ilvl difference between normal dungeons and m+10s.
Hi, you seem to be mistaken and think your personal opinion means more than the official statement in the first post where they explicitly stated they understand people want a casual endgame.
I’m not trying to cement my personal opinion as fact. I’m just reading between the lines.
They continue limit the things that aren’t M+, and leave M+ unrestricted as it already is.
I completely agree; the jump is way too large. I’d rather see a M5 or M7 be rebranded as M0 with the new M2-M3 giving drake crests as rewards. There needs to be a smother transition between content levels.
More worthless shuffling around of stuff and PR noise that amounts to literally nothing other than employees telling corporate “I did work pls don’t fire me lol”
It’s just juggling visual numbers/labels around.
The systems designers are not doing their job or care at all. If they wanted to attack the problem at hand, they’d scrap or rework raid lockouts and great vault to not be a FOMO’ing timegate meme that causes a severe loss of player agency. The game is in the state of a freemium mobile game with unengaging weekly login rewards where you’re put in timeout for the rest of the week and when you login matters 1000x than actual effort put in. Some of us want an honest depreciating returns grind but blizzard will not and cannot give it to us due to the high level freemium mobile game monetization plan.
The gearing system is so bad I’ve been avoiding any sort of interaction with dragonflight content since late december 2022. I’ll only play it once it goes legacy since the systems designers love holding current content hostage with troll mobile game systems and attaching bait to every little thing to steer interaction to such trash.
This looks interesting. I’m here because my best friend gave me half information, damn you Elainenora and your half baked news !

This is all well and good, and maybe they are working on the other aspect of mythic plus that really needs an overhaul - and that is affixes. Current affixes are really adversely affecting player experiences. Blizzard are constantly saying they don’t want “mandatory classes” yet they insist on keeping affixes in the game that specifically deny some classes a mythic spot that can’t dispel (eg Afflicted). Imagine paying a subscription and putting in a sustained effort to gear your toon only to be pretty much benched for the week because you can’t dispel. That is terrible game design. If you are going to overhaul mythic dungeons, do a complete overhaul and do it properly.

So no change to the system…just a squish with the exact same system in place. Seems like a marketing team got ahold of this announcement as its all carefully worded to give the illusion of it being one way when in reality its not.
Go ahead and break it all down…you will see…its M+ keys with timers…M0 without timers…Heroic dungeons with no affixes or pressure. All…the…exact…same. Just higher item level and a squish from 20 to 10.
Lol. Come on, it reads as if a car sales person wrote this.

This makes heroic more relevant, kudos there. As much as you hope this will make M0 more utilized, uh no, expect the opposite? M0 is in this weird place that casual players can’t queue for it and more serious players want to M+ all the dungeons. If anything, making it more difficult means that casual players who may have taken that plunge will never touch it now. I uh, not sure how this is not realized. If you put it in the queue however, you are giving people their very first key, and if they have a key, they’d want to take that step into making their own LFG groups. This is an amazingly simple solution guys to get participation up across the entire board.
