I’m desperately trying to get my Hunter his S2 DF LFR or Norm chest piece, but Blizzard has made it incredibly difficult.
I’ve been running Norm Abberus for weeks with groups hoping it would drop from the second boss or get a token from last boss, alas no luck.
So my backup is the LFR recolor, but I can’t do LFR yet. I’ve done some research and people have suggested getting a blue chest from Dreamsurges or Timerifts and Catalising them to get the LFR appearance. So I go to Hamuul and he requires a Dreamsurge Cradle, doesn’t exist anymore…so that’s out.
Then I go do some Timerifts and buying the required chest piece requires something called a Dilated Eon Canister, run several Rifts and haven’t seen one drop.
At this point I feel like Blizzard just doesn’t want me to have this appearance, I’m hoping there’s some other method I haven’t discovered yet, can someone put me out of my misery?

You cannot catalyze a blue. It must be an epic.
Do the weekly quests to buy the gear from the vendors. I’m not sure what they catalyze into, if it’s LFR or Normal.
What weekly quest is that? If it’s the one that used to reward a Dreamsurge Cradle, it doesn’t reward anything anymore.
You can get lucky with the tier token OR get any chest piece from the raid and use the Catalyst to convert it to tier. You get infinite charges once the tier is outdated.
There’s one for the Time Rifts that should award the currency for that vendor. The Dreamsurge vendor will tell you what currency you need.
There’s only 1 mail chest that drops from Abberus and it’s the one I can’t get to drop.
Greetings - IMO atleast what my friend yuki and I do are run ‘Mythic Transmog’ and clear runs. You’re pretty sweet going 1-4-15 for both easy or 1-3-16. Be picky and get 600+ (flex on healer)
After now doing about 7-8 times between my characters people always want to join but never want to initiate, it’s very easy!
Plus if you’re lead you can choose less people of your own armor type 
it’s great.
If you have the gold the Sundered Edgelord’s Breastplate is a mail chest BoE from Aberrus, and it should catalyze into the Hunter S2 Chest piece.
Just make sure you don’t buy a BoE from the Awakened season (S4), as that will catalyze to the the tier set that won the S4 vote…which was the S1 set for hunters.

I did the “weekly” Shaping the Dreamsurge which used to reward a Cradle, random gear from the box and gold.
I don’t know if it’s a bug but completing the quest now rewards nothing.
