I can’t believe this. The takes on reviews is disingenuous and deceptive and dishonest by all definition of it just to tank dragonflight.

I’m not sure I would call 88 negative votes a “review bomb.” Thats a pretty insignificant number of votes
Also, I dont think anyone actually views metacritic as a reliable source of product reviews

That’s not a review bomb. Do you know what review bombing is?

They shouldn’t have upped the lvl cap to 70…

I can. Between the fact that people will complain about anything, people will also complain if the game is not exactly what they were looking for. And Blizzard is still trying to win over PvPers (world, BG, and arena), raiders and M+'ers, as well as solo players, and even crafters (items and theory). Someone is always going to be unhappy.

Studios and the teams do. Can change many things internally.

Im not smart on how the industry views things, but I feel like I could probably generate a bunch of really positive (or negative) reviews for a couple hundred bucks on that website

Where to post view? I’d love to give a negative…

In grand total of user reviews is:
139 positives
16 mixed
185 negatives
If you think 185 is not a review bomb then I don’t know what is and also have you people read the comments they are all ridiculous. (Atleast most of them)

Well, for a game like WoW with millions of disgruntled former and current players…
I would probably consider it a positive outcome that only 185 of them took the time to write a negative review
Edit: for reference SLs had almost 1700, BFA had over 1700

A lot of people brought up racial segregation and racism, in respects to factions
I’ve never considered this. Regardless though, fascinating read

I dunno, it looks like a targeted review bomb to me with the way that a lot of the reviews have the same handful of fairly specific talking points that would be odd for them to bother everyone exactly the same way, using almost exactly the same phrasing.
- They’re tired of the core gameplay loop of doing quests and instances and want it to be different somehow
- There haven’t been enough graphical updates
- They think Blizzard is being heavy-handed, hypocritical and reactionary in their inclusion of LGBTQ+ content
- “The writing is for 12-year-olds”
- The story-based racism isn’t real racism because it’s a fictional universe but the races are still being “segregated”
- Dracthyr are a “female Worgen reskin”
The last three in particular are oddly specific and nearly always phrased the same way, and that makes me think that some midsized WoW Youtuber put out a particularly rant-filled video that hit all of those talking points. It’s strange to see so many people repeating them nearly verbatim over and over, all together.

That is the opposite of a review bomb. A review bomb would be 200 negative reviews with “WHERE’S MY PONY BLIZZARD” as the only point. The best example of a review bomb is DotA 2, which got review bombed to hell with “GIVE DIRETIDE VOLVO.”

I can. Blizzard burned any and all good will across every game in the past 2-3 years. Deserved.
