So basically once you farm enough conquest to buy all your gear there will be no reason to really push rating anymore cuz gear will not get upgraded. Gives zero incentive to do PVP for rating. Dumbest thing ever.
Next they should make all raids and mythics drop the same gear too. So all the bad raiders can have the same gear as all the good raiders. Cuz that’s what they are doing in pvp.
PvE requires gear upgrades in order to clear more difficult content.
PvP doesn’t require out gearing to beat more difficult players, you just need to play better.
Gear shouldn’t be a factor in PvP (to an extent I.E: Fresh toon obviously shouldn’t be able to compete with a fully geared toon but there should be 1 gear set and 1 only), should be about skill rather than whom has the BiS.
If PVE players got better gear they could do more difficult content. so give them all mythic plus gear and make raiding have no incentive just like pvp.
Feel like they are doing this to please pve players when all they have to do is turn off warmode.
So real pvper get screwed for people that want’to dip there feet and try it and probably still not like it cuz they mostley play for the pve aspect but might want to pvp here and there.
Should work the same way in pve then. people that dont have skill to get past mythic plus 10 should get the best pve gear so they can do higher pve stuff. People don’t have higher pvp gear/rating is cuz they are not good enough just like people aren’t good enough to do mythic 20. If you are not good enough to get the gear then you shouldnt have it.
You realize in PvE a player with ilvl 240 gear isn’t going to enter LFR and randomly encounter a Mythic boss right? PvP and PvE are totally different and the gearing processes can’t be meaningfully compared.

pvp progression and pve progression aren’t supposed to be similar in terms of power prog
pve progression is usually gradually work your way up and get gear to be able to down more fights, and finally master the specific fights while maintaining your dps/hps/whatever tank specs do to not die
pvp progression is fight players on ladder, getting better as you rise through the ranks, mastering your own spec to beat other players on a generally equal playing field, eg: better players win, with gear basically acting as an aesthetic with [some] stat customization on your end
to think you need gear as carrot just tells me you don’t really care much about pvp as much as you do 1shotting random undergeared people, which you’ll be able to do in WM by just getting pve gear still
pve is about the loot
pvp is about the prestige
Most players want a fair fight, which means equal gear. A full green-geared player will always lose against an arena-geared player. There is very little skill involved in 1 shotting players with lower gear.
It’s like taking a professional sports team who have been playing for several years and making them face a bunch of middle schoolers who have just started playing the game this year. The professional’s are going to destroy those kids no matter how hard they try.
I’ve seen ppl with rival to duelist gear in random bgs, skirms, solo shuffle, etc. Couldn’t imagine trying to gear as brand new player with a fresh toon.
