Dragonflight prepatch issues hunter class

Couple things I’ve noticed so far and will update as time goes on:

1)Raptor Strike: the damage doesn’t seem to scale with gear correctly, on my talent tree for example it saids it’s suppose to do 513 damage but in my combat log it only does 358 (on average)
2) Feign Death: it doesn’t seem to take you out of combat fast enough to swap gear, this is a common use for me as sometimes i get caught out of ‘uniform’ for example if I have my mining cap on while mining, I’ll use this to get back into the right gear with a macro, but it took over 5 seconds for me to drop combat to swap gear.

EDIT: Pet Action Bar; during pet battles the pet action bar is still on the screen and covers some of the abilities partially

EDIT: Old world profession gear seems to auto equip to character rather then actually get slotted into spot

(Nit pic) so it seems survival is being forced to use ranged abilities as basic survival abilities are in the talent tree (paying for my abilities again aye blizz lol) honestly, overall I like how many abilities I kept I was really worried low levels would loose a lot but all I really lost is serpent sting, but the feel of the class isn’t the same, it’s very clunky, having to use kill command as my opener (my focus generator) and my damage in order to get 3 stacks for raptor strike (my focus spender) seems backwards, makes me feel more beast mastery then survival. So I’m forced to use ranged abilities and that means macro, macro my ranged weapon to my arcane shot and steady shot and macro my melee weapon to my harpoon (yea I payed for it and it’s stupid but I need it) and possibly my raptor strike so I can disengage and shoot as well as harpoon back in and go for the big (hopefully crit) raptor strike… it’s a lot of work. I’ll play around with it to try to make it feel smooth but it would be nice to have a base line filler for when I’m up close other then raptor strike, and it’s damage needs a buff, all that work for one hit at maybe double damage (a little better if you crit)… kinda meh

TBH, you must admit this was never at all an intended use for feign death, even if we did use it that way.

Maybe but with the new professions it’s going to be, how many hunters are going to be mining or herbing or skinning and need to swap gear

Also: update on damage, I’m wondering if mastery or versatility isn’t being added correctly into the damage, don’t know for sure but that could also be the issue

Oh, don’t get me wrong. In BC, I was Queen of accidentally leaving my riding crop equipped. :joy:

You don’t have to have 3 stacks of Tip of the Spear to use Raptor Strike. You don’t even need one stack. Without any stacks it’s still going to be your hardest hitting ability at that level.

Switching to a ranged weapon for your starter ranged abilities is going to hurt you, unless that’s what you really want for class fantasy. A global to switch weapons only to use a weaker, more expensive Arcane Shot. As cool as that should be, no. You are a melee class.

Harpoon and Bomb while closing the distance, 0-stack Raptor Strike and then Kill Command while you are below 100 focus. Then you’ll have a 1-stack Raptor Strike. At that level, you’re almost never going to have 3 stacks unless you’re low on focus and get lucky KC resets. Pretty rare that things stay alive long enough for that to happen.

Marksmanship does not get trueshot until after level 50 and this is terrible.
