Dragonflight, Please revert this change

Removing all class/race restrictions muddles the already stretched lore to meaningless skins. This isn’t necessary, please don’t do it.
If you want to let alliance and horde group instances together…I don’t like it, but fine. But don’t shred the lore-based differences that add diversity to the game. Please don’t give up and institute a policy of sameness into the World of Warcraft.

They’re only adding a few new ones, it’s not like we’re getting Forsaken Druids or anything.

Are all the class / race restrictions being remove? I can be an Orc Paladin?

You do know that civilization does evolve.
Nothing stays in a status quo/stasis forever.

It makes total sense for races to practice a new set of skills …
Well Tauren and Draenai Rogues don’t make sense …

I look forward to our plagueshifters and their white hounds.

no.

They said something along the lines of wanting to remove more restrictions but all were getting now is Rog Mag Priest for all races.

I would thing Pal, Shaman and Druid would come towards the very end of these relaxations because there’s a little extra work on these classes.

So, no Orc Paladin? :no_mouth:

meh, our pathfinders and longstriders are pretty stealthy, so are our hunters and druids.

If it’s hooves, well Satyr have rogues and they have hooves, though I agree that’s more of a Nelf holdover thing. I’ll agree that it’s a little out of the box but I think the end scenario of all this is one of 2 things

-Gameplay trumps lore. Who cares if your healer was an Orc Priest instead of a Mag’Har priest.
or
-If an extenuating circumstance can exist where X race could have picked up Y skill in the last 20 years, then isn’t it likely that a few of them would? even if they are extreme outliers.

No Orc Paladin… YET!

At this point, I’d rather it be opened to let players enjoy what they want. The lore restrictions were rather pointless once they started muddling it up

Sorry but I have to disagree with you, OP. I used to be a proponent of sticking to racial norms, but the lore around some of the class/race combos (or lack thereof) is already pretty tenuous at this point. Trying to stick to that reasoning would be inconsistent nowadays.

Besides, the game is closing on 20 years old. Open it up D&D style and let people play whatever combo they want to play. Add some glyphs or something to change some of the spell effects for Paladin/Priest and boom, we’re all good.

Thinking on it, we know there’s an ‘Exarch Hellscream’ in the AU timeline.
So… Ret Paladin Garrosh may or may not be in the future, depending on interpretation of lore.

I mean with the jailer behind everything to “prevent something worse”, the lore is already meaningless. Besides, Goblin Shamans already exist.

I’m in for Mechagnome Shamans, Druids or heck even Kaldorei Paladins.

Different kind of stealth?
Hunters use their environment to stay hidden. Camouflage
Druids transform into a cat to be stealthy…

I don’t mind them being rogues. It just doesn’t makes sense just from a physical point of view.
That said Orc and KulTiran always could be rogue, so what.

Agree. At a certain point it’s like, what even matters?
I understand that the story and lore have been completely shredded by this new modern wow team, but this post holds water if we pretend the game designers still care.

Outlaw spec says hi. We have Grimtotem, who are more about doing what to takes to get the job done/what they want, we have the rangari who are the same,

The thing is rogues are also the ones who live on the edges of the law, they might still follow the law but they will do what it takes within the law. As far as stealth? Assassination and subtlety rely on such, outlaw? not so much.

Thats not to far off now and since they’re merging the faction players, that is the next step.

Have you listened to some of the head cannon and excuses for requesting certain classes and race.

Some of these folks don’t care for lore or story and I don’t understand that because isn’t that why your here? You know its supposed to be an RPG an RPGMMO O.o

I blame the High Elf people for this crazyness.

I’m pretty sure that removing those restrictions will not in any way reduce, ahem, “diversity” in the world.

They aren’t, at least not yet. They WANT to, but some classes need art and/or additional lore to make them a reality. IMO any race/class combination can be justified with a reasonable story, some just require a bit more creativity than others do.

The “diversity” of being race class locked LMFAO. Ok.

Players having the option to tell whatever story they want to tell with their character, doesn’t ruin the lore. More options means more diversity, not less.
