Dragonflight legacy content scaling is awful

It seems like a lot of BFA content is scaling to 60 (was 50). I’m unsure on the specifics but I believe it includes world content, normal dungeons and normal raids. This actually means that this 2 expansion old conten tis getting harder with the new expansion. That’s ridiculous.

Another example: 3 expansion old content (ie Legion) should be one or two shot raid content. From beta testing I’ve seen, this content is no easier at level 70. Kil’Jaedan still means doing a lot of mechanics. Currently you can solo Mythic Gul’dan relatively easily (depending on class) but you can fail because you can get perma-stunned if you’re not careful.

I don’t want to do mechanics in 3 expansion old content. I don’t want phases. I don’t want intermissions. I don’t want RP. I don’t want cutscenes. Keep ity for Timewalking. Lose it for everything else. 6 year old level 45 (under the new scale) content shouldn’t be annoying for level 70s.

Agreed it is messed up and needs fixed, i went into SL dungeons and was scaled down to 60 aswell.

This is a huge issue with retail. Despite earning new gear, higher lvls, etc you don’t feel like your getting stronger. The moment you ding you instantly get weaker thanks to scaling content. This is something that shouldn’t be happening.

Absolutely absurd to raise the level of old expansion content.

question: what level is Kil’Jaeden when you mouseover him?

I Just came here to make a post about this as well, on DF beta level 70 mage ilvl 392. Old content farming is dreadful, its like there is no CHANGE AT ALL! ( 10 levels and 150+ilvl higher gear means nothing)
BFA should be a breeze and so should Shadowlands content.
I went into the maw Just to test, where is the player power? it doesnt feel any different then being a level 60 with 230 ilvl.
There should be a drastic difference in power like it used to be, if you took your toon back to the zone you outleveled (before the squish and the scaling mechanics) you could one shot any mob maybe a few hits on an elite or zone boss. ( aside from the damage sustain on World bosses like Sha of Anger or Galleon which are great QOL features)

Honestly we have been able to farm previous expansions for a dozen+ YEARS and I gave them the benefit of the doubt with the pre shadowlands level squish and thought its fine it will go back to normal when we get 10 more levels (70). But that is not the case at all not even by a long shot.

We should get our power back and be given the ability to faceroll previous content, With chromie time this has no effect on players who are questing or experiencing a zone for the first time at the zone level because they have a designated phase to relive an expansion as it was.

This is has been something that has been a big part of my playing experience ( and i know easily thousands of other players as well) in the past when collecting previous expansion (items mogs mounts etc…) it feels like a slap in the face to a casual player, like we have to wait 4 years now to farm old expansions not just dungeons and raids but actual outdoor content with ease, I dont like this change.
I dont like to have to cycle through an entire spell sequnce to kill a mob from a previous expansion that shouldn’t require that much effort especially when we have done it on 50 alts already during the expansion and re-ran that same content a ridiculous amount of times. There should be no challenge to old content when a new expansion comes out. I thought that was the whole point of chromie time.

I hated the Maw ( and shadowlands for me sucked as an expansion) I should be allowed to go back and grief every mob in that zone out of pure hatred and one shot them all.
Just like everytime you saw fel reaver when you out leveled the zone you would stop and one shot him just because he killed you so many times.

There are so many arguments on the forums about casual players who want the best gear in the currrent expansions without having to do mythic raiding/dungeons and they want that gear from world quests and want to feel super OP in the outdoor zones, okay, fine underserved in a current expansion, but taking this (PREVIOUSLY EXISTSING) power away from those same people who are going back one expansion to farm pet battles or mounts or achievements or collect treasures or whatever EXPIRED content collectables they are doing at a casual pace is kinda a punch in the face from the DEVS.

Sorry if i talk in circles and repeat the same points over and over.
Just upset that i keep coming back, buying the most expensive versions of the expansions, buy the 6 month, 1 year sub plans, buy all the mounts, pets, in the shop(even tokens) to support a Game/Company that in return isn’t supporting a playstyle that I and many others have played for YEARS and YEARS with no issues and now all of a sudden you have removed this for no other reason then ?? im guessing too lazy to apply a buff for previous expansion ? Or just dont want players to have the old player power we used to have ? I honestly and baffled as to why this is like this now.

True but the scaling of BFA to 60 is more for those of us with alts who are not level 60 and want to avoid Shadowlands.

It is a total pain though for those of us who like to just solo older Dungeons.

Oh and my level 60 Mage with 257 gear level just got her smacked silly in Tol Dager.

Sure she can kill the normal Elites but the first Boss very quickly killed her.

it happens ever Exp and gets fixed every exp - down the line its just the nature of there weird wonky system. The devs have WAY bigger fish to fry and issues to fix then old content right now. yes its broken, yes we will see pinky to lip 1 million post about it.

No it will not be fixed soon
but yes it will be fixed.

Once DF goes live and the whole game doesn’t explode on its self, blizzard will fix the scaling issues (as has been for every single wow exp ever)

The entire point of an MMORPG is Progression. To feel stronger as you level and gear up. Scaling should include that, otherwise, what’s the point?

Uhh, yeah, because it’s literally intended to scale to 60 now. That’s not a bug, that was planned.

You can now level from 10 to 60 in BFA content, and from 10 to 60 in any previous expansion, meaning that unless you want to, you don’t have to do any Shadowlands content at all, that’s entirely up to you.

Scaling started with Legion, so no, it’s not been that way for “every single WoW expansion ever.”

sorry let me correct that:

Its been happening since every single exp that *Scaling has been introduced. which has been 3 exps now (counting shadowlands) which is more then most players whole wow life.

Deal with it, or cry, I don’t care i mean you might think I care because Im replying to you but I don’t, I really don’t its just funny as all hell to watch buckets fill over an issue that is not new, has been on going and is ALWAYS fixed.

So entertainment.

what are you talking about? the scaling for shadowlands legacy buffs NEVER GOT FIXED.

Ilvl scaling has been crap since they introduced it. And the game is still paying for it now. Which is why when they squish anything, things feel even worse. They created more work for themselves.

Ever think and just pitch in the dark here to see if anything hits a home run but that maybe you suck? I mean I have been able to solo legion stuff for almost ever now I can’t even remember when I started, now granted Eonar is another story but thats not a scaling issue that is a 'this mech is not defeatable solo" issue. But i am also sure someone how there has beat eonar solo as well so I digress.

No, it’s not. That’s exactly what you are supporting.

This sucks. I literally run the dungeons and solo them every week for a chance at the mounts… yet suddenly this week all BFA content is level 60 so I can’t solo BFA dungeons anymore. If you want to level from 1-60 in BFA you should have to talk to chromie or something and then the zone scales with you. If you haven’t talked to chromie though it should remain level 50. So stupid.

I would like it better if they added solo mechanics and higher scaling to make legacy dungeons and raids into a casual level (normal raid level of complexity) solo challenge. Maybe for updated gear models.

note: I just want updated models mostly

Yah i took a level 70 Fully geared MAGE 390 something. Into a BFA raid. Took me 5 minutes to kill the first boss.

Its very upsetting, Blizzard might no think so but they have stolen something from the players who have been around for almost 20 years. The change is very unwelcome. ( Has been since they started it)
