Dragonflight is the ugliest WoW expansion

half the dragons were based on dragon mounts we already had…

Yea they gave them the Porygon Z treatment.

Also gave them all diabetes.

Huh? Zereth Mortis is still one of the most gorgeous zones they’ve ever designed.

Zalarak Caverns was just Ringing Deeps beta test. They’re basically the same place.

that zone was all student quality macquettes, rigs, skeleton wire frames with zero texture, green/grey waist down, blue/grey waist up, Minecraft inspired, and certainly not worth a AAA premium price + subscription fee and you know it.

The color palette for BC almost makes it appear to be a different game.

It is noticeably darker.

But I guess my brain just attributed that to being in space.

Because all the colors are over saturated. But that’s not really it. It’s the palette. The Purples, Hot pink, iridescent greens and and neons are a HARD sell against the rest of the game. Outland gear is usually among the hardest to mog with other sets because of this.

It goes without saying, but that is your opinion. I like it better that TWW because of the open world areas. TWW imo is mostly ugly.

Yea it was probably a bad idea to have an alien space themed expansion in a fantasy RPG.

Ugliest race, sure.

Earthen look a bit better than Dracthyr imo, but not by much, still won’t play either.

But Waking Shores, Azure Span, those were pretty great.

I think most would agree, Shadowlands still has the crown for “ugliest expansion”, mainly due to Maldraxxus and The Maw. And probably Korthia as well.

I definitely think Shadowlands is a step down from BFA. But I would call it more of a mixed bag. Some area’s look good, some look bad.

But in DF it felt like I couldn’t escape the ugliness.

Really?

I adore the options the visage form gets, especially most of the hair. Easily the best character creation.

Dracthyr form I could take or leave, but it’s not hurting for options.

Ill chime in on this post.

When dragon isles were datamined back in worl of warcraft alpha.

I felt this sense of mystery.

The home of the dragons, the mythical creatures that were so massive and awe inspiring that could eat you in one go. They were not friendly but made that way for a childs game.

The dragon isles were supposed to be dangerous. No mortal has ever set foot on it. But instead we got this babyfication of everything in dragonflight. And dont get me started on chromie.

They (art department) really dropped the ball with Dragonflight.

I’ve played better rock-men in other games.

WildStar had Granok, which had moss and leaves growing for beards, or growing crystals, not actual ‘hair’ like these Earthen have. Having organic hair is just weird.

Also, you could have chipped features, and a whole section of your head missing, it was cool.

And, the ladies of that race actually looked ‘hot’ for rock-people, lmao.

Earthen are kinda the lowest-effort race I’ve seen thus far in WoW- we already have two dwarven races as-is. This was totally unneccesary.

Vrykul would’ve been more popular.

Imo, it’s kinda of a waste of resources and time, to make races that no one really wants to play. They should’ve learned this from BfA lol.

I tried to like them, but their voices grind my gears.

void elves say hi

At least Void Elves are popular because High Elves used to be on Alliance, once-upon-a-time.

So, for those players, it has a purpose.

In fact, Voids are the most popular allied race by far, for that exact reason lol.

Elves “belong” with the Alliance.

Rock Dwarves feel weird with the Horde. They’re still dwarves.

Where’s the Alliance Tauren at?

Sure. but that doesn’t change what I said within the context of the conversation
