Starting off in the new zone as a non Dragon race is slow, boring and feels lackluster. Almost a complete ripoff of the Demon Hunter begining but not as much action or ugency.
Starting with my Worgen, it feels childish, and the dialogues are cheesey and boring. No sense of urgency.
The new race looks ridiculous when he runs, as if he is prancing toward his target like its my little pony.
my armor doesnt show up on my hero.
My weapon appears in my hand randomly, but it “disappears” into my wings when I sheath it… so WHY do we even have weapons?
The game feels like there are a ton of details that were just flat out overlooked in characters design.
The expansion is far to full of non threatening situations and dialogue that is generic and over the top.
It time for WoW to maybe go back to vanillas tone and ideals, or scrap this game and release a new franchise. I think developer burnout is as apparent in this release as it is with player burnout at this point.
The new expansion numbers are poor overall, i almost never run into anyone of the new race, which says a lot about the poor design of the race in general.
I think this was a bad idea for an expansion, a bad implementation of an expansion, a bad race design for a new race, and the rework of the class system is honestly not very good. It really doesnt bring any difference in play style to the heroes. And my skills and abilities dont look different or react different in accordance with them.
Maybe just my experience but this feels that way, namely with alternative characters. I prefer a threat that is big but not end of world big. Lots of focus on the smaller stories.
How is it like a class starting zone? Do you mean the Dracthyr starting zone? How would you do it as a not Dracthyr?
You sure? Cause everyone is having a great time other than the few negative Nancy’s. I don’t mind it at all since it is the first expansion I bought during preorder in a long time. The last being bfa cause I could not force myself to preorder Shadowlands till the first sale.
Assuming you’re talking about starter island, because that’s the only ‘new’ starting area for “non dragon race” characters. This isn’t dragonflight stuff.
Probably because you’re level 11 and they basically start at 60. There is no shortage of Dracthyr at max level.
While it varies from spec to spec, this is a ludicrous claim to make as a blanket statement.
Based on your previous claim of there being no Dracthyr and thus no Evokers, I assume you’ve played nearly 0 endgame in which case your knowledge of the current class design is rather suspect.
The acting def is over the top. Some of those cut scenes were truly cringe worthy.
The last great, eerie, zone we got was back in BfA w Drustvar. The Castlevania rip off in SLs was a good zone too, but it didn’t feel like WoW; I just enjoyed it because I like Castlevania. On that note, DF as a whole doesn’t feel like WoW either.
It’s both over the top and in places so completely underwhelming that it borders on being disturbing. Characters swing wildly from over the top Hamlet levels of cheesy ham in one cutscene or dialog to flat and unemotional in the next and at THE worst times to be completely deadpan.
The game is 2 decades old, play it casually with other games. People want wow to be that all consuming amazing experience they remember the first time they played it, it will never be that again. That’s not a bad thing…
I think its a great xpac, but i play it like 6 hours a week , its not my full time job, and i enjoy lots of other games as well.
