I tried. I really tried to like it. I love the flying part, but holy crap the quests man. Absolutely horrible flow, constant problems and bugs, phasing/story/timeline issues.
That is all. See ya!

The best quest in this expansion is the one where you literally don’t move and just listen to the grief of an old dragon.
It’s not been my favourite for leveling either. In fact it’s probably my second least favourite, just slightly better than shadowlands. Thankfully in less than two weeks the required exp for 60 to 70 will be massively reduced. I think I heard it’ll be 75% less.
I couldn’t even bring myself to level alts.
SO boring and uninteresting.
It took me 3 whole days to get from 60-70 at launch because the quests were THAT boring. Though, I will admit, it was tough to begin with having experienced the questline during DF beta, where it was just as horribly boring. Imagine doing the questline twice on two different characters , for testing purposes, and then having to do it all over again for REAL at launch, all the while it is as boring as Outland or Northrend. Though, I will admit, Shadowlands was more boring.
To bounce off what someone above me just said, yeah, I can’t even level alts unless timewalking is up so I can spam dungeons for 3 hours.
Howso? You progress through the zones in a linear fashion for the main campaign.
I’ve run into a few rare bugs, but nothing overtly gamebreaking, thankfully. I have heard some people are having issues, though. I swear they break more than they fix.
Phasing gets annying for gathering and summoning.
What story and timeline issues?
This is the first time I’ve heard people complain about the DF questing. I thought it was a huge improvement over Shadowlands.
I rather enjoy the world quest in the dream where you just fly around bonking dragons out of the sky.
What? Questing was/is fine. It was fun imo. Can we get some examples of the problem you’re complaining about?
Maybe we need more bonk quests.
It cured my altaholism.
Tbh MoP/WoD/Legion era questing is top tier.
Shadowlands is definitely on the bottom.
DF is mid I guess? I’d rank it below BfA but above Shadowlands.
I think BfA has a few too many side quests at a time before the main story quests were marked differently on the map. We ended up doing way more quests than we needed to in order to clear the zone’s story line lol
Tbh I rmb just really loving Drustvar, Vol’dun and Nazmir storyline. For Dragonflight I don’t really have a favorite questing zone in totality but I think there were few parts there I enjoyed like the Blue and Brzone Dragonflight questlines
I grabbed flying and leveled through dungeons. I am finally going back to do some quests but it isn’t the best experience.
is absolute garbage.
Dragonflight leveling quests were not great yeah think only one of them even had any relevance to the post-leveling story being the last one with the Infinite Dragon and Chromie.
Looking back on Dragonflight now Shadowlands is a distant nightmare the expansions weakest aspect was definitely it’s story and questing with the few actual good quests having you do basically nothing but listen still not as bad as Shadowlands though.
unpopular opinion.
shadowlands had more impactful stuff happen than dragonflight. dragonflight was interesting but i mean shadowlands had higher stakes,
I was away for 6-7 years. Apparently I bought the BfA collector’s edition, did a few quests, and quit. Not so much because of BfA but because the game itself started turning me off.
Anyway, my impressions since coming back a month or so ago:
I really, really dislike maps where it’s impossible for a leveling character to explore (at risk of being roflstomped) higher level zones. Thus, Shadowlands is the optimum terrible expansion for me, and I’m glad I completely missed it. Very glad. I will finish loremastering it at some point and I expect it to suck.
I think I would have liked BfA a lot if I’d felt like playing. But, it seems I didn’t. I don’t even remember making a decision to stop playing or why, just, stopped logging in.
I find the questing in DL really disjoint and I have no idea what progress I’m making toward goals like dailies. I leveled a shiny new dracthyr 60-70 and I am nowhere, nowhere near the end of the campaign. With everything confusingly rep-locked, I genuinely have no idea what to do.
–Also too many damn rep currencies and little tchotchkies to carry around. Little seeds, big seeds, medium seeds, medium blue seeds, medium sparkly blue seeds, etc. And although I really enjoy the flying mechanic, I don’t much like quests where I have to fly from one zone to another to say “hi” to X, then fly back to say to Y, “X says hi back.”
MoP questing was excellent and Pandaria is my favorite map. I’d rate BfA and Northrend a tie for 2nd, although I wish BfA hadn’t divided Alliance and Horde so thoroughly.
–I play only Horde, so, ehh, whatever, it’s like half an expansion, with riding around on an Alliance ship’s crow’s nest to do fishing and pet achieves, because I have no idea how to get to the Mechagon side quest chain.
I must have liked questing in WoD, because I have something like 10 level 3 garrisons. I remember it being decent and dailies being generally fun. I finished Molten Front back in Cata and OMG how much I hated it. Every time I see lava in DF and fire elementals and fire puppies I feel a wave of PTSD.
I generally disliked the Legion maps and really disliked the chunky fel zone. It’s like they ran out of polygons.
Both Isle of Thunder and Timeless Isle were brilliant.
Anyway just some random thoughts.
Timeless Isle’s gloss tended to dim after a year of it being the most recent content.
