Dragonflight feral or boomkin

Which spec is strongest?
I know its all gonna be changed eventually but is boomy better than feral currently

Better is subjective and involves too many variables to give you a definitive answer.

If you enjoy feral better play that, if you enjoy boomie better play that.

Most of the time which of them you enjoy more will be the better one for you because youre more invested in the spec

I enjoy both the same. Just dont wanna do a spec that is total garbo …

The safer option is Boomkin with the range vs melee.

We wont know what is the dominant spec until tuning and the fight types are known

However its unlikely that either will be garbage

For what content at what level? Neither will be garbage. Play whatever you want to, honestly. That’s the right answer. No one has any idea what they’re going to be like at launch and after.

Sporebat spec. But in all honesty it just boils down to if you want to play ranged or melee if you enjoy both specs from a general gameplay perspective.

Boomkin will always have an easier time because Ranged is preferred over Melee.

I’ll probably do boomkin as I love healing so it’s easier then getting two weapons and different trinkets.

Plus got mushrooms back and uncapped AOE again Hoot woot

I understand this response, but have come to loathe it.

Some people genuinely want to know which is actually strongest. Which performs better statistics wise. And this doesn’t answer that at all.

It is still too early to tell. If we go off of previous data boomkin, but we’ve all seen how things change between seasons and expacs. If you are more use to ranged go boomkin, if you are more use to melee go feral.

They seem pretty darn even right now

Unfortunately the reality is at this time a definitive answer cant be given, with the Druid general tree both classes are capable of bringing similar utility to the raid so it will all come down to tuning.

Even accounting for a 5% difference in potential DPS (based on sims) that is likely only to be 2-3k in the real world of Season 1/Tier 1 so either is still fine

The safe bet will always be ranged due to the range v melee dynamic

He means ranged is easy mode. Play feral for a challenge.

Just play what you enjoy.

While i get where you’re coming from, at the same time, anyone that really “needs” to know for performance reasons doesn’t need to ask on the forums.

Is playing them both an option? That’s one thing i like about druids, multi-spec feels like playing alts without switching characters.

You can’t tell before the start of an expansion. What is strong now may be nerfed into the ground later. No one knows. You just have to go with the flow until the expansion starts in anger, and even then it will take a while to work out classes. It’s always the same every expansion. If you’ve played you should know this already.

I assure you…
The more awesome you think you look, the more DPS you’ll do.
And those kind of numbers are smoll weaksauce compared to how much damage you do if you have fun.

So, remember! Look cool, but more importantly, have fun.
