How come I get this feeling? Way less LFG listings on both PvE/PvP compared to SL, and I don’t really see that many people playing or talking about it as much either.
Diablo IV, no? Keys/raiding are fun and so is PvP aside from the ladder being deflated.
Full pop servers still have activity, the rest that I’ve had alts on are pretty meh.
Zaralek Caverns is whatever, things in DF just let people raid log or jump in to do X or Y and log out and D4 plus other games are more interesting for other players. So a factor of things.
That’s because there are less people playing. Shadowlands was more popular than Dragonflight.
Im on a full pop server. There’s just really nothing going on. Rare farming for “meh” rewards. Even 10.1.5 is gimmicks and nothing really story driven. So the drought is real until 10.2
I guess people still doesn’t know there are many many layers of sharding.
Yup, less people wanna play WoW now, and it’s pulling their friends out of the game as well.
Doesn’t help that DF wasn’t a ‘perfect’ expansion that it needed to be, professions were just bad on launch, and I’d say they haven’t really recovered- most people just abandoned it and let a few crafters on the server get reign over all.
My friend BOUGHT me DF, we played together in PvP, had fun for a while until the ret rework ruined everything (rets everywhere killing everyone), and he quit.
So, I’m here twiddling my thumbs until my sub expires as well, not having fun anymore.
I renewed for Season 2, in hopes things were better and at least more playable, but as a Monk player, it just makes me depressed. Warriors do everything you can do, and better, and don’t get destroyed doing it. But, I wanted to play my Monk, and cannot.
Balance is just awful, so I can’t bring myself to engage.
The forums provide more entertainment than the game itself.
The really optional nature of things and poorly done stuff, rehashed stuff, is having more people just log in here and there while ignoring everything else. The few left will farm stuff no matter the quality of the game. The game has past its honeymoon phase and initial interest and it seems D4, other games are seeing engagement.
I agree 10.1.5 isn’t looking all that good. I knew Time Rifts would end up being pretty mediocre from the looks of it. 10.2 might definitely see the engagement in WoW pick up again. BUT me thinks Dragonflight has chased away a fair amount of people now so we are in the BFA, SL quiet phase 'till 10.3 probably lol, near end of expansion is when things will pick up more IMO
Seems fine to me, my random bg queues pop within a few minutes and that’s all that matters to me.
Its mid season
D4 is still hot
Final fantasy 16 just came out a few days ago
I feel the opposite. Something about shadowlands - all of us in that instanced area really bothered me. The barrowed power. Valdraken is a wide-open area that on my server feels heavily populated and I enjoy the boat ride there. I like small details like that about this game. I dislike waypoints in other games and like that we have to travel around.
Anyway - I would imagine you’re asking cause its an uneasy feeling for game you enjoy. Rest assured it could just be timing. Every time I log in, I am surrounded by people.
I think that’s because of sharding.
Rememebr last week or whenever when that goblin event was in town and everyone was piled up and lagging out the game for a couple minutes every half hour? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
The game is more populated than it seems.
I feel like a global pandemic the likes of which we haven’t seen in a century may have played a significant role. Gaming as a genre saw a huge spike during 2020 and 2021; many games saw peak play time they hadn’t seen since launch, or ever.
It’s certainly possible the hype of the next expansion after a bad expansion (which has been the usual cycle) with shadowlands led to more people coming back who were then disappointed by another bad expansion in a row. But a much larger group of people playing games surely played a major factor, regardless of the details surrounding the expansion.
I’m on a (supposedly) high population server and it now often takes more than 20 minutes for a random battleground to pop while levelling.
The mood/setting has been completely trampled and it doesn’t feel like Warcraft anymore. People are either playing classic or XIV where the mood feels consistent and still feels like the same game.
Dragonflight has less chores and as a result more people can do the things that they actually want to do rather than spend (read “waste”) time doing things they don’t care about in order to do the things they do care about like has been the case since Legion. There is still an issue with raiders needing to do M+ to advance at a reasonable pace though.
For the most part I do my LFR runs on Tuesday/Wednesday and then log out or over to level an alt unless there’s something I just particularly feel the need to get done.
Agreed. The only consistency that DF has going for it is bloat. From zones that filled with nothing to bosses in raid that have too much life, it is just bloat everything.
Server doesn’t make a difference as to how long it takes for a BG to pop.
There are less subs now.
Diablo and the zCaves aren’t that compelling.
Test again when the megadungeon arrives.
