I’m really enjoying DF, but I know tons of people who want to play and friends I would also help purchase dragonflight for but it’s way too expensive imo. 50$ is too much for a lot of people right now. Is there not a cheaper DF upgrade with no xtras for ike 25 or even 35 bones? Times are tuff blizz and people want to play your game, but just can’t.
I mean gaming is expensive… if you buy a new console game its gonna be like 70 bucks that you might play for 3 weeks
They will probably have a sale in six months or so. Your friends can save up some money and buy it then.
I am afraid not. Blizzard has never sold expansions that cheaply.
What your friends can do though, is get Vanilla through Shadowlands free with only a monthly game time card/sub. If they like the game, they can maybe save up for DF.
Play is also free up to level 20 (I think?) with no sub.
inflation is the discount.
$50 seems reasonable when you’re getting every other expansion that came before it and not just DF content.
If you ask me, it’s the subscription fee that costs too much.
If your friend can come up with $35 just buy him a token off the AH and he can turn it into the other $15 he needs. Actually have him bring $40 depending on tax in their state.
The subscription has never gone up since OG WoW launched. Fifty cents a day (or less if you subscribe for longer periods) is not that expensive.
Y’all should just play on the PTR, it’s free and you get content early.
EVE’s subscription is 19.99 due to inflation…
Skyrim (a game that came out 11 years ago) for the Nintendo Switch is currently $58.50 on Amazon. New console games will set you back $70 in a lot of cases. Blizzard is charging $50 for an expansion pack they spent years working on.
I don’t think gaming is particularly expensive and I don’t think $50 for an expansion pack is expensive at all.
I appreciate that there are some countries where Blizzard’s local prices, relative to incomes, makes the game much less affordable. But for Americans, I don’t think $50 every 2-3 years and $15 a month is very expensive relative to the time spent on a hobby like this.
If your friends wanna play it than all they have to do is wait a couple three years and it’ll be added to thier accounts for free. Yeah they’ll always be one expac behind in that regard but its the cheapest alternative especially when if they do wait the expac will be relatively bug free to an extent as well as zero time gates and content droughts.
They’ll run a sale, eventually. I paid gold.
Looks at golf clubs.
Yea i am not buying it right now as its too expensive.
Plus my country’s currency got weaker compared to dollar…
So for now…classic wow for the win !!
If dragon flight is too expensive how can you afford the subscription fee?
If $50 is too expensive then playing a videogame should be the very least of their worries.
Honestly, if you don’t partake in any of the cash shops, MMOs are the biggest bang for you buck in gaming.
$50 every two years ain’t bad.
Christmas is coming, and even totally secular families in North America and Europe do gift exchanges. Have your friends ask their friends and family for the game and/or game time as gifts.
As far as video games go, WoW is on the cheaper side amongst the new games out there for sale.
No expansion has ever been that cheap. Even BC was $40.
