Whatever they are called, emissaries, daily callings, if there is anything like this in Dragonflight, please consider making it so we don’t have to fly somewhere to pick them up.
In Legion and BfA, the daily whatevers were just on the map, you’d do the quests and get credit for it. I don’t mind going somewhere to turn the quest in afterwards. But in Shadowlands you have to go somewhere to pick up the quest, and those quests also take up spots in your quest log.
Go back to how it was done in BfA and Legion, it’s a minor improvement that would make a big difference for ME. And it’s all about ME-- this is known.

In Shadowlands, the iteration of World Quests and zone design was made so it would waste as much of your time as possible.
- Separated zones, where you have to use a flight master to fly between them
- Callings that you have to turn in AND pick up in your covenant sanctum
- Longer WQs, several with multiple stages or filling a bar
- Less WQs per zone, sometimes only 3-4, basically removing any choice that you had in Legion/BFA on which ones to pick for the daily emissary/calling.
Hopefully this isn’t one of those “we’re happy with how it turned out” situations and they revert all of these horrible decisions back to the Legion/BFA design.

Revert, and/or improve, if you ask me. From expansion to expansion the “quality” and in my opinion, replayability, has waned. But it took a steep drop in SL.
And to add to your bullet point, they allowed for the flight master whistle to upgrade from Legion to BfA, but discontinued it. I unlocked my gnome heritage armor and got a special flight master whistle for him… which I can’t even use in current content!
They need to really assess world quests, dailies, etc. in every aspect.
There have been enjoyable iterations in the past. It can be done.

I’d rather go back to daily quest hubs like we had in the past instead of World Quests/Callings, like what we have in Korthia.

I will say, I like a mix of both. When Korthia was “current” I didn’t mind doing a quest hub, and then roaming and doing world quests. But I didn’t really care for Korthia itself. The scenery and tight space, and lack of flying, were all turn offs for me.
My personal favorite quest hubs were pretty much all the reputation factions in MoP, the Firelands druid quest hub in Hyjal, and I actually liked the structure of the Mechagon zone.
I like daily quest hubs that have context, a story arc, etc… the Klaxxi is still one of the best daily quest hubs I worked on and the plot twist still gets to me.
For me, variety is the spice of life. I like a mix of both, but I always prefer quality.
Atleast the korthia quest NPCs we’re all bunched up togeather
Yes, that was the silver lining for me. And the rewards were much better (if you were farming materials and anima like me) and easier to get than callings. Pick up the quests, knock 'em out, turn 'em all in, and boom. Dun.
Don’t forget emissary bags. Who had the bright idea that you could pick up a calling in your covenant zone, fly to the zone where the calling is located, complete it, then have to fly back to your home covenant to turn it in, and then if you’ve earned an emissary bag, you have to fly back to the zone you just left and talk to their faction guy.
Because you couldn’t have say, a representative in each of your covenants. That’d be too convenient. Much better having multiple hubs you have to fly between constantly in order to do mundane things.

And sometimes I don’t even notice that I have grinded enough rep for an emissary bag because past exalted, I just do not look at my reputation tab.
I’ve done this. What I wonder is: do you continue accumulating rep toward the next bag if you keep going, or does rep stall until you claim the bag?
Shadowlands Callings are almost certainly the way they are because of the Covenants. Provided we aren’t all pledging ourselves exclusively to different and distinct parties that are the driving source of our actions, it’s unlikely that we’ll have this issue again.
Yes, up until 9,999/10,000 of the next cache. This way no rep is ever wasted on completion, and you have quite a bit of leeway to go pick up the current one you earned.

Yeah, like Monkiy said, I believe so. I have had like 2000 extra rep after picking up one of those emissary bags. But I didn’t know the specifics.
You keep going up to 9999/10000 towards the next paragon box. Then it cuts you off, and you will never know how much rep you may have lost because the paragon quartermaster is on the other side of the In-Between from where you turned in the quest that got you that paragon cache and haven’t had a reason to go back since.
