Dragonflight Cosmetic Appearances

How do you get them to work?

I have a level 69 dracthry currently questing thru the Dragon Isles. She has gotten about six difference cosmetic appearances from quests and drops and none of them will ‘collect’. She puts them on, they show up on her but they do not show up in the appearance tab and ‘You haven’t collected this appearance’ still shows up in blue at the bottom of the description box.

So I sent a cosmetic ‘requires level 60’ shield to my level 69 draenei. She put it on, it soulbonded to her but, again, does not show up in the appearance tab and ‘You haven’t collected this appearance’ still shows up in blue at the bottom of the description box.

This is only happening with items labeled ‘cosmetic’. Is there something I need to do to make them work? Is there a quest? A menu option? A button? Something?

Oh, it should be noted this has been going on for two weeks and within that time, due to another issue, I have done all the standard stuff (log in/out, exit/enter, close everything down and reopen, turn off and on computer, uninstall/reinstall game).

None of those things fixed it (or the original problem).

ETA: just realized same thing is happening on my dwarf priest. She got an Excavator’s Trowel and Life Pools Watering Can while questing in the Dragon Isles, can equip both but they do not show up in the appearances and the blue line at the bottom of the description box is still there.

One more thing—they really should give the Dracthyr a proper dragonkin appearance. I mean the kind that looks big, burly, and intimidating—dragon–kin, like the ones you see in the Burning Steppes. The current Dracthyr, with their skinny arms and legs, just look like failed experiments (which, to be fair, they actually are).

Use the item. Right click on it, not equip it.

This is true of any item with the little pink corners and a “cosmetic” tag.

Don’t they all say “Use: add to appearance collection” on it or something, as well?

Most of them do, can’t say for sure they all do.

Also, there are some legacy items from old expansions that are cosmetic with the pink border but can only be equipped and never “leaned” for mogging. Consistency!
