Dragonflight copied Guild Wars 2 mount mechanics

It’s literally just a 1:1 copy including the diving skills, the way it maneuvers, even the racing and everything else too.

GW2 had this for years, but since Blizzard ran out of ideas that work with how bad BfA/SL flopped it looks like they’ve just resorted to straight up copying other MMOs blatantly without giving any credit.

Whoever the devs are for DF lack moral integrity, the people who worked at this company that made this game famous left and we’re just left with people stealing and copying ideas from other games and trying to pass it off as their own.

What a sad time to be a WoW fan.

Since when is copying a good feature of another game a bad thing?

Pretty sure GW2 doesn’t have ownership on how glide/flight mechanics and stuff works and I wager there were games prior to it that had it. So this seems like outrage for the sake of tying to be upset at something

Wish they would copy personal gathering nodes and trade skills that make your own end armour like GW2. Oh and a bigger world. As for GW2, I wish they would increase the amount of dungeons.

If it’s so good they could’ve done it years ago and improved on it, what we have now is just a copy paste last minute to sell a rushed expansion.

You know blizzard has been copying systems from other games the last 18 years, right?

Sure but Blizzard blatantly ripping it off isn’t cool either. They never bothered doing anything with mounts before and GW2 has had it since launch, it seems too convenient that they’d just copy it because SL failed and they needed to sell an expansion.

Just feels scummy is all.

And how bout all the mmos that blatantly ripped of WoW when it first started. This is nothing new

Which MMOs ripped off WoW? And even if they did they did it from launch and expanded on what WoW built.

They aren’t even expanding on what GW2 built, they just copy pasted it and called it a day.

I don’t mind if BlizZard copies.

But they need to add the BlizZard polish or else it is a waste of time IMVHO.

I don’t have any examples admittedly but I’m sure given the number of mmos out there since WoWs release there are few that borrowed ideas. Lots of games do this, it’s not limited to blizzard.

And that’s my other problem, they didn’t even improve on the flight mechanics. They just took it directly without adding in any new flair.

It’s just so lazy.

They definitely took inspiration from it, but having played both the implementation is very different. GW2’s Griffon works differently from the dragonriding drakes. Its energy recharges in a different manner, and it can not gain altitude past where it starts without a lot of super tedious and frustrating work arounds. It can also dive straight down, speed along line a rocket, and then hit a button to climb right back up to where it started. Something our drakes can not do.

Both are fun, but they are not the same.

This guy used to troll on a human monk of the exact same name.

Legion copied early Legacy of Kain: Defiance cinematics but no one complained about that because it was still pretty cool.

Nah the closest comes to mind is Gryphon , but this mounts gliding mechanics is much different.

More over wow has always been copying ideas from other MMos and implementing it with their own twist

Games are constantly stealing ideas from one another, this shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone who has actually played them.

Someone call the police!

Someone compared it side by side on Reddit and it looks exactly the same.

  1. WoW is at its best when it’s copying other MMOs

  2. Where the hell have you been since Dragonriding was first announced? This isn’t even news
