Kind of in the same boat with the other specs. We have to add 2-4 new buttons to our hotbar.
i mean Scov is in a pretty bad spot we dont have the 9 seconds of shadow spells and we lack smend which it used to empower so now its a dead corner of our tree.
overall disc feels fine but i think the shake up they did to our capstones is poorly thought out and that twilight equilibrium is to valuable to not take. kinda forcing us to take DA or the LW capstone and DA always wins in this scenario.
if they made scov turn all our spells into shadow variants that would be kinda cool and could turn VE on our class tree into a ok talent but rn its just bad.
Ditto. But now we’re so close to release I’m not so sure I want to spoil myself on anything… hmm.
well you can compare the new caster to priest.
Like for example.
Why am i able to spam strong heals for myself while not going oom as fast as Dps spec? Kind of funny.
meanwhile, flash tickle exist in its current form.
Yeah, there’s no chance I’ll ever play evoker. Or a monk. It’s just never going to happen, no matter how things are tuned.
I forgot there was a raid testing today so I didn’t hop on. There was some serious issues on the beta though with mouse over macros not working properly.
well ill then let you know for you.
Casting 8 to 9 Living flame on myself brings me to 45 to 50% mana. While on priest im oom. Its also much much more potent. While storing my healing as dmg to make my next living flame on enemy hit way harder.
Meanwhile priest are twinkling their nerfed version of shadowmend and Maso talent due to them fearing buffing the spell cuze holy spec.
Yikes, idk numbers can change and all but that depends on what happens from here to release. They can easily make it stronger or avoid it completely.
I will also like to add how the CLASS talent tree has no fear of adding CCs, Spell interupt, big defensive cds, and healing + healing power boost.
While in dps SPEC tree, you can as well further increase healing output and dmg all within one talent.
Meanwhile priest, thats a diff story.
I really wish they just reworked every class, condensed them, and followed this construction they did for envokers.
Like i actually feel like a hybrid class , and thats so werid. It shouldn’t feel werid though but it does. I DOn’t really feel like that when im priest or druid. Shaman i do though. Their healing is nice.
#rip shadowmend and maso 2022
Yeah - unfortunately priest has 20 years of development history behind it and certain player expectations, meaning there’s not nearly that level of freedom to redesign things top to bottom as there would be with some new dragonkin class plucked out of thin air and assigned the weird role of “medium range high mobility healer.”
I quit playing WoW during WOTLK and came back in BFA and was surprised that Holy Priest was literally the same exact healer. It has all the same buttons it had from Vanilla. Literally every single one. The only new stuff I had to hotbar were the Holy words.
Disc was utterly transformed in comparison. How Disc played in WOTLK (and even in WOTLK classic) was you just spammed PWS on the entire raid the entire fight.
Honestly who cares IMO. Obviously a lot do but, staying stuck in the past will just do more harm then good.
Only thingg i expect is a Good design that honors the past legacy and history of the class while transforming it into something better. Keeping some legacy things, losing some, Changings them entirely.
Being stuck on the past won’t ever improve the current state of anything.
But thats just me i guess. I’m more accepting of change and completely new stuff
In fairness even in WoD disc remained “spam PW:S” the entire raid the entire fight, so that shield spam design had a good long run.
Then Legion inexplicably plucked out the lowest skill floor healer and made it the highest, built around very specific ramping timings.
I’m not so sure that was a good thing for either the spec or the game - I feel like that design change went hand in hand with designing the game for REALLY sweaty mythic raiders and fostering a culture of contempt for the rest of the playerbase.
Personally, I kinda hate the evoker trees and think several classes are in a better spot. It might be better than priest, but it’s absolutely not an exemplary talent tree, lol.
What do you dislike about them?
Well back then there wasn’t this log culture and guilds were less obsessed with meta comps. Also, I remember the damage meters didn’t properly show absorbs or even count them towards healing. It was entirely possible with enough haste to pre-PWS the entire raid before aoe damage came out.
I honestly wish we didn’t have add-ons like dmg meteor/healing meteor. I find games that do not have this give a better gaming experience.
But that’s just me.
Spoken like some one who doesnt do any end game content.
Correction,
Like someone who wants to enjoy the game.
Related, I don’t think meters create jerks. I think they reveal jerks, though.
adding, so many of them lol
