In addition to the Azure Span questline being about Kalec finding an azure oathstone, this item is a fragment of an obsidian oathstone. It seems like we’re going to be looking for one for each dragonflight.
Oathstones are a thing we’ve seen before. In Classic, Belnistrasz and Itharius gave them to us in the Razorfen Downs and Sunken Temple questlines, respectively, to communicate. They are probably the same thing as the medallion made of Deathwing’s scales that Rhonin had in Day of the Dragon which let Deathwing communicate with him.
In every appearance before oathstones have been given by dragons to mortals to communicate with them. I wonder what the point of these specific ones in DF will be.

I am so stoked for Tauren Raid stuff.
I have often ranted about how cool and unique a Tauren themed raid would be.
The cinematic would be so different, just because of Tauren. I could picture it now…
Anyway, I am pretty excited for the stuff I hear about Dragonflight regarding Trolls and Tauren and Centaur the other denizens - except the Dracthyr. They still seem… unfortunate.

I am not. It seems just like another alliance expansion to me. Jaina, Khadgar and Wrathion will show up. This will be no different from Legion were Horde characters were forced to accept quests form legendary alliance heroes. This game is going downhill really fast.

None yet. I have just been saying there should be one. The cinematic would be awesome!
One of the races we have not really fought much is Tauren. We have fought all manner of Elves, Orcs, Humans, Undead, Dwarves, Gnomes.
The Grimtotem boss just makes me stoked for Tauren stuff, and Tauren other than Baine being in the story. Lasan was a breath of fresh air.

The earth mother is not a real deity. It is just Tauren folklore. Elune is the one true goddess.
Oh well. She kind of sucks at her job then.
I’d say she’s about as active as the Earth Mother when it comes to protecting her children.

I’m still a bit skeptical.
Personally the dragonflights in WoW never did much for me. I don’t dislike them persay but I feel like they’re just kinda there. It is a medieval fantasy setting so there must be dragons and these ones have the Planeteer stewards of the world shtick.
And often, at least to me, they always feel a bit tacked on. The Blue dragonflight subplot in Wrath felt kinda unnecessary as I thought we had more than enough on our plate as is with the Lich King and Yog Saron. Similarly Wrathion basically became the main character in BFA after it very abruptly decided to not be a war story anymore after Sylvanas flew away yelling "SEQUEL HOOK’.
Granted I didnt play Cata so maybe they were cool there. And I also thought the Loa were always dull but then Bwomsamdi became my favorite character in the setting.
So we’ll see. But after two immensely disappointing sequels I’m very nervous about them touching the deep lore on this one.

The Loa did nothing when Rastakhan was killed. They are just as useless as Elune is.
Its currently speculation but Magatha was datamined, along with her bodyguards Cor and Gorm. And Magatha is raid boss material and the bodyguards could be that be a boss duo, like the Lords of Dread were

Magatha is a hero of the people. She is not fit to be a raid boss. If she did this would be another wasted Kael’thas situation were a racial leader gets killed for no reason.

At any rate, Bwonsamdi considers himself a Loa and he is subject to the Loa rules about having a relationship with worshipers. He has actually been able to save souls from the Maw and the Jailer. He has kept some safe.
Elune has a less successful track record as far as that.
The Loa have been at least a bit effective at keeping their chosen mortal souls safe. Rezan and Voljin, for example. Meanwhile, poor Ursoc was not protected by Elune.

Mueh’zala is so far the only Loa who has actual power and doesn’t need worshippers to be reliant on his strength.
Just like Sylvanas she didn’t do anything wrong. For as long as the alliance is the enemy every tactic against them is fair game.
I’m the biggest Sylvanas fan and 1) Sylvanas never wanted to wipe out 'The lesser races" There have only been less than a handful of characters who have been that xenophobic, Azshara, Garrosh and Magatha. You consistently show that you have abolutely no morals you will literally follow a tyrant off a cliff.
