Does anyone here have beta access? I’m curious. They let in a bunch of clowns who whined that the expansion was too woke, but not me.

God, why did I resub? The community is still trash.

Though I’m glad that the “monster races” are finally getting some development and much needed nuance, especially the Harpies who I’ve always found fascinating, I’m skeptical about the way the writers are approaching the issue… Instead of introducing us to brand new “good guy” groups, I’d rather have them give us new perspectives on pre-established mob groups. Explore questions such as, what has driven the Kalimdor Harpies so aggressive ? What are they after ? Can we do something about it ? That’d be way more interesting. That’s the problem I have with the DF Centaur too

In general Id be in favor of more neutral 3rd party groups like Centaur clans, Murloc tribes and Harpy… Hullabaloos? Whatever they’re called.

Having left in Wrath one aspect of old WoW I’m surprised went nowhere is 3rd party factions. Hell you can still declare war on the Vanilla ones, I always thought that idea was going somewhere but it never did outside of the Bloodsail Buccaneers.

Seems like they’d be more viable now where instead of crap gear and maybe some profession recipes they could offer unique mounts, mogs, toys, pets or hell maybe cool stuff like access to portals to specific places you won’t find elsewhere or other neat quality of life stuff.

It’s a relic of an earlier concept of the game, where you started as an adventure affiliated with the Eastern Kingdoms Alliance and could raise your reputation with any quest-giving faction, as the new Alliance was not at war with the Horde. The Alliance bias towards better designed questing routes in Vanilla was the result of most of the game geography being designed for this and the Nelves, Gnomes, and Horde being abruptly shoved in to be playable.

Wow Vanilla makes a lot more sense with that information. I remember being shocked at the number of friendly NPCs on the Alliance. Even the Pyrewood guys are friendly when they’re not in Worgen form.

Meanwhile pretty much everything wants you dead on the Horde. Even other Orcs and Trolls. That’s why I think seeing Tirion was so memorable on my Forsaken. Outside Steamwheedle Ports everything human shaped was hostile. So seeing one flagged friendly was intriguing. I always thought that was good ludonarrative synchrony. Which it was but accidentally.

Who cares where that predatory WoW Token machine is? /s

People that like to use it or find it useful in getting transmog, mounts, and/or pets that won’t drop.

I was joking. I know people use it.

My bad, I didnt notice the “/s” to indicate sarcasm.

More development for the Lightforged. We finally see Rangari in the main universe.

I hope so. Ever since their Matron Goddess was resurrected in Cata, I always wanted to see a Harpy faction that was either always loyal to her or at least abandoned their shadow magic worshipping ways. I feel like Legion was a good spot for that since Aviana has her own little spot in Highmountain. But alas it didn’t happen =(

I still think it should’ve been two Tol’vir playing Hearthstone if Blizzard was going to make a Yugioh reference.

Although the Seto Kaiba reference NPC being a female blue dragon is actually funny and very clever (basing this off the name. ‘gosa’ is a suffix usually given to female blue dragons). Given who the Blue Eyes White Dragon was originally in the story. When you go into the Millennium world arc that is.

About damm time to Rangari to show up. Also, interesting to see the more technologic side of the rogues coming up.

In preparation for Dragonflight, Blizzard is letting everyone read Visage Day for free.

I speculate that Chromie may eventually take over the Bronze Dragonflight.

While I like Chromie, Nozdormu has an heir, and I will be vastly annoyed if Nozdormu becomes Murozond and kills his son or his sons death triggers the transformation for it all to lead to Chromie becoming the new Bronze leader.

Though I’m hoping that DF answers the question of who was trying to kill her.

Incidentally Nozdormu’s Son Anachronos has a more Timeless Voice than Nozdormu whose first Voice was a Southern US Voice and second voice was merely a wise Archmagi of the same sort as Medivh.

Nozdormu is either a Grumpy Old Man or a Wise Wizard while Anachronos is Time itself!

Anachronos’s Voice was so Timeless they used it for the Grim Reaper of Sailor Moon: Death Phantom.

They should continue to use Steve Kramer for Anachronos!

Chromie is really an oddity in the current generation of WoW: She’s one of the very few prominent, “product identity” characters in WoW that does not lead a faction and have renown for being one of the most deadly [class].

She is reasonably proficient and probably not a joke, but she is higher diplomatically than she is in the power curve and neither is headlining.

I kind of like it that way.
