Dragonflight alpha/beta thread

Vulpera need to be removed.

No. I like our little fox friends.

They literally add nothing useful to the Horde. Meanwhile the Alliance got mechagnomes. Who have their own city and are enough in numbers tu build a full army.

I actually LIKE mechagnomes and really really dislike Vulpera and I still cannot imagine being so incredibly fixated on destroying the Alliance to the point that you’re jealous of … mechagnomes

You will love the vulpera

Dude I don’t like vulpera either but saying the mechagnomes of all races are better than them is absurd.

You’re mad that the Alliance has this: https://i.redd.it/puhgpewfl5t31.jpg

The Horde has more than enough shock troops and fire power. What it lacks is logistics and support forces such as a true intel service like the SI:7. The Vulpera could be the best spies and scouts the Horde ever had

Wtih only a few exceptions the Horde forces are build by survivor races. We have nothing that could compare to full grown kingdoms like Ironforge and Stormwind. In the last war the alliance outnumbered us greatly not just because of ships. If there is ever to be another faction war in the setting we need something to even the scales. I vote for Gordunni Ogres and Tol’vir from Uldum. Last I checked they are the strongest factions from the respective races.

Gordunni maybe. Tol’vir, no. They’re my buddies.

We already have enough, “So you’re my best friend who saved my entire [civilization/city/defeated the Burning Legion], but I’m joining the other faction so yeah… it’s war time.”

I don’t disagree that we’re a bit lacking in the stability department and that we’re far behind the Alliance in terms of infrastructure, but that’s also what makes the Horde what it is. Now imagine if we had an actual intel org ? The destruction of the Golden Fleet and the whole Zul’dazar disaster could have probably been avoided with just a little bit of counter-espionnage. That’s actually depressing to think about

I’m all for the Gordunni of course

Zandalar was literally renderet useless during the attack of the alliance. The army is basically depleted(Read the Shadow’s rising book) and the fleet was sunken. The entire campaign on the continent was a disaster. So I am looking for new allies for the Horde that can give the faction their teeth back and make them to be the big threat they used to be back in the second war.

The dwarves and Kul Tiras are the only major factions in the Alliance that have not been pushed to the brink of getting wiped out since WC1. Rustbolt implicitly is on the brink and their numbers aren’t many, they just have a lot of technology. Zandalar have numbers even after the Cataclysm.

The game should basically be, at this point, The Three Hammers, Kul Tiras, and their friends versus Zandalar and their friends – at least if we’re doing faction war.

But the story’s never gonna get told that way, raw numbers are the thing the lore ignores the most and always has.

There’s a new questline where you attack a Gnoll tribe and assassinate their leaders for… pretty much no reason: the ultimate murderhobo fantasy. When they die, sometimes the gnolls even say “land…ours,” as if they’re intentionally referencing colonialism.

So yeah, probably aren’t getting a Gnoll allied race anytime soon.

It’s too late now but if we were still in a BfA environment we could have seen some “strategic” recruitments regarding allied races.

I would recruit some races that have land in the heart of the enemies territory and have legitimate grievances. For the alliance they could have gone with Sethrak and Quilboar. For the horde they could have gone with Drust and Gnolls.

It would be interesting how the factions would react and adjust to wartime “acquisitions”.

Between this and the djaradin being just flat and evil I have no idea what Blizzard supposedly meant when they said they’re going to try and give the monster races more depth in DF.

From what I heard there isn’t even really an explanation for why the gnolls have started using decay to corrupt others. They just are.

The Decay Gnoll leader escapes her Dungeon so they are probably going to make them a Raid-Wide Threat.

…They are going to use them as an excuse to corrupt Alexstrasza aren’t they?..

Clearly Blizzard is not interested in Depth of Personality but Depth of Threat-Level in the Story.

I wonder if Blizzard plans to make the Mantises in Dragon Isles a grand threat to Azeroth?

We know less about them than we do about the Mantid so the Mantises are an unknown here!

Nozdormu’s iconic voice has been changed.

Might be because the old voice actor is 82 years now. A shame but it is what it is.

I loved his old voice it was unique and iconic, and this one is such a dramatic downgrade, it sounds like it could be any generic wise character. But his old VA is super old now so I guess there isn’t much choice in recasting. I just wish they had gotten someone who sounded more like the old one.
