So I went in to farm Dragon Soul as usual but forgot to change the raid difficulty to 25(H) until after I killed the first boss. I zoned out to try and change it but that didn’t work for some reason. So I zoned back in and could change it from 25(N) to 25(H). I proceeded to kill all the bosses upto Spine but right at the encounter prompt, the NPC says I cant access it until I kill the previous bosses.
So I open the encounter journal and see that all the bosses I killed are still on 25(N), even though the raid tag at the top right corner as well as if I right click my character portrait says 25(H). Logging out and resetting instance didn’t work at all and I have access to Spine on 25(N) only.
Anyone know how to fix this glitch?
I think cataclysm you are locked to 1 difficulty a week if you kill a boss.

If you kill 1 boss on non-heroic your screwed. Your not getting heroic last fights.

Dragon Soul is weird. It will let you change the difficulty in the middle of the raid. But you’re not allowed to kill Deathwing on heroic unless you killed all of the other bosses on heroic as well. That’s the message you’re getting. You didn’t kill the first boss on heroic, so you’re (stupidly) locked out of heroic Deathwing. You should be able to clear it on normal though.

Blizzard should change the old raids to act like the current raids as far as difficulty settings go. Streamline everything to be consistent.
Still pretty weird how firelands is the only Cata raid where normal and heroic have a seperate lockout.
That is because Firelands became a timewalking raid.
It didn’t work that way until it became a TW raid.
Another consequence of that is there is no “10 man” or “25 man” versions of firelands anymore, it is completely flexible (like Ulduar).
