Dragon Mounts

Looking to start collecting some more mounts with my spare time. what are your favorite mounts and where do you farm them from? I want to get more dragon mounts so if you got any recommendations on farmable dragons lemme know.

You can get quite a few from the Dragon Soul raid, I think there’s three that drop in there. If you do the Obsidian Sanctum raid underneath Wyrmrest Temple, just run straight to the boss and kill him and you automatically get two dragon mounts from that. Malygos drops two, Onyxia drops one.

If you wanna branch into cloud serpents too, those guys are all over the place. I suggest downloading the All The Things addon, it’ll show you loot tables for pretty much everything.

The wind drakes from Cata are oh,so beautiful

Theyre a good consolation prize for grinding your eyes out for the infinite timereaver

I’m a fan of the Cloud Serpents.

I see you have the Infinite Time Reaver. If you have 5k Time Warped badges you could get the Heavenly Jade Cloud Serpent from the MoP Timewalking vendor. Just gotta wait for the event to roll around.

If you don’t like Cloud Serpents than id recommend the Drake of the North Wind, and the Drake of the South Wind. They’re both very nice looking drake mounts that drop from instances within the same zone (Uldum). One of the instances is even repeatable. Just go to Uldum and do the Throne of the Four Winds raid, and once you’re done you can head to the Vortex Pinnicle dungeon and keep repeating it as many times as you can before lockout.

Good luck!

Dragon soul, the one raid where Onyxia gets ressurected has one as well. Malygos has two Azure drake is pretty cool. Obsidian Sanctum has a few basic ones. There is also Tarecgosca’s Visage but that’s a pain because it’s behind a legendary questline only casters can do it. And you have to equip the staff to use it everytime.

Most of them require farming old rep or are random drops, but 2 that are easy to obtain would be the bronze drake from one of the caverns of time dungeon and the black drake from Obsidian Sanctum as was mentioned before. I think you also get an albino drake for collecting 100 mounts or something like that.

I really wish they’d just add that as a transform mount for anyone that has it. It looks so cool but switching weapons all the time is just a pain.

You can make a macro to equip it, transform, and then re-equip your normal weapon.

/Equip [Insert name of the Tarecgosa staff]
/Use [Insert name of the Tarecgosa staff]
/Equip [Insert name of your main weapon here]

This is what i use. Just gotta press the macro twice for it to work.

Also, yeah, i agree. Should be made into a mount for those who one the staff.

My favorite is still the azure netherwing drake from BC.

I use it as well it’s just a pain when you get a new weapon. Legion was great for using the staff though because I didn’t have to reinsert the weapon name. It should’ve become a mount with the transmog legendaries feature though.

Oh yeah I always forget about them. If you haven’t done the Netherwing stuff, OP, there’s a whole mess o’ dragons there.

I don’t really have this problem because i have horrible RNG when it comes to weapon drops lol.

I’m looking through your list and I think Dragon Soul might be a good place to farm as you can get four Drake mounts from there if you include the Glory Achievement and they look a bit like Alexstrasza.

Mogu’shan Vault is another quick one as it drops the Astral Cloud Serpent and can be finished pretty quickly compared to other raids.

If you want to farm Drake mounts you might like farming for the Netherwing Drakes as they were the First Drake mounts we got back in TBC.

I also just saw you don’t have any of the Cata Storm Drakes and two of those are pretty easy to farm up. Drake of the North Wind can be farmed in Vortex Pinnacle on normal mode so you can go in over and over again till you get bored or you get the mount. Drake of the South Wind can be obtained in the Throne of the Four Winds raid and the trip to the raid will likely be longer then the raid itself.

I hope this helps get you started with farming. There are over 50 Dragon mounts if you include Cloud Serpents so there are a bunch to go after.

I’m amount collector and this is my go to site:

https://www.warcraftmounts.com/

I made an account and uploaded my Paladin. This site lets you create a wish list and shows what you have and need to collect.

man I just watched spine of deathwing part In DS and that looks annoying to figure out lol

This is a big must, if you haven’t done this OP.

To me, probably the best looking dragon mounts in the game, and the grind for them isn’t too bad now that you’ll be mostly alone. And… I find the grind over there so… tranquil, for some reason. Just you flying around in space… doing cave runs.

It may look hard but its easy. The easiest way is when you land on his back kill three of the Tendrils and sit in one of the holes as Deathwing cannot throw you off while in a hole. Once you have a good pile of Corrupted Blood wait for Deathwing to finish a roll then pull them to the center of his back near the plate and AOE them down. Once that is done kill the remaining Tendril and pull the Amalagation over the pile and kill it near the plate when it has a stack of nine which will pull it up and Kill the NPC under it. Just do this two more times expect kill one of the Tendrils instead and wait in the hole

It may seem like a hard fight but, its really not. I have done that fight 100+ times and it’s more of a bore now I just read the forums as I wait for the Bloods to pile up.

how hard is the Stone Core dungeon drake to get? does that one drop on normal mode? so could I keep running it over and over to the 2nd boss and reset until I get locked out?

Yes the mount drops on normal Stonecore so you can run it endlessly till you hit the hourly limit. How hard is all depends on RNG. I got Vortex in about 10 attempts back in Cata while it took me about 100 attempts to get Stonecore.
