I’ve noticed a real prevalence in the dragon isles of mining nodes either despawning right as the player is standing next to it or even during mining it, and also mining nodes that when you mine them, no loot menu pops up and then it desepawns a few moments later. it has even happened several nodes in a row. i’ve had it happen in several locations. doesnt seem to be a lag or connection issue on my end, everything else is running smoothly, my leatherworker/skinner has no issues gathering thus far. the issue seems to be primarily with the mining nodes.

Sounds like someone had already mined the node and you arrived at it just as they despair.
Nodes have a timer from the time they are mined to when they despair and their respawn timer starts.
I have had it happen a few times and it is annoying.
It’s some weird phasing thing, not sure if they’re experiencing the same. I’ll mine the node multiple times without any loot popping up. It will then despawn in front of me until I walk 5-10 yards away where it’ll then reappear, despawning again if I get too close. Sometimes it wont despawn when I get close again allowing me to mine it, again with no loot. Very strange stuff. Maybe it’s just some bug resulting from the timer expiring after someone already mined it

You might be onto something with the phasing thing because I have encountered a few places in DF areas where I see explorer packs, disturbed dirt or mining nodes on the mini-map and then when I get clsoe they vanish and I can’t find them.
It’s pretty easy to test whether it is phasing or timed despawn. If you fly away again it will reappear if it is phased, if it despawned because someone else picked it earlier, it won’t.
