Dragon Isles, Kharazhan, and Patch 1.13 Player Housing

Now that Classic’s impending industry shattering success is inevitable, and it will very likely have 10 million subscribers.
(Wod and Legion both got 10 million at launch, and Classic has even MORE hype than those two combined; meaning 10 million is a conservative estimate, more likely 15 million)

It’s time to think about the future of Classic, after Naxxramas.

1] Player Housing
Fun fact, Classic was originally going to have player housing.

Why after 15 years World of Warcraft STILL doesn’t have player housing, and NO Garrisons aren’t player housing it’s just a generic Facebook game with no customisation, is beyond understanding.

Blizzard should really add player housing to Classic. Introduce the “Construction” profession, just like in Runescape, and let us chop down trees, and make building.

Imagine putting Onyxia’s head on a plaque in your house, that would be amazing.

2] Hellfire Peninsula (in Vanilla)
You might be surprised to learn that Outland, was supposed to be a leveling zone in Vanilla. Maybe it should be?

3] Kharazhan
Kharazhan was originally supposed to be a raid in Vanilla wow, that is why the staff of Atiesh; a legendary from Vanilla that you had to kill Kel’Thuzad to obtain, created a portal to Kharazhan. But in Vanilla, the Kharazhan content was cut making the portal useless.

4] Kalidar, Azhara’s Crater, Dragon Isles, and Emerald Dream
1:06 Kalidar Battleground
6:23 Aszhara’s Crater Battleground
7:10 Dragon Isles
8:50 Emerald Dream

5] Tauren Plainrunning, Duskwood darkness, Old Ironforge, Stranglethorn Islands
0:25 Survival skills, and how Duskwood was meant to be a dark zone.
1:27 Shields and Bucklers.
2:19 Old Ironforge.
3:05 Tauren Plainsrunning.
4:05 Stranglethorn Islands.

Conclusion:

All the content cut in the development of Vanilla could easily be added into the game, making it as NO Changes to the ORIGINAL design of Vanilla, and not the changed product that we got at release.

Classic Wow could be just like Old School Runescape in the way that they still add content to an old game, and, it’s a success story.

Another interesting fact, Old School Runescape has twice as many players as their “newer” “modern” retail version of the game.

I look forward to seeing Retail players try to spin this one when Classic has MORE players than their precious Battlepets for Azerite Armor…BFA.

It’s really not.

“Preserving a piece of history.” That’s what Classic is about. It’s as simple as that.

nothing will happen. Classic exist exactly becauses devs don’t need to support it with new stuff and it’s cheap thing to have

in a classic enhanced, separate from museum classic, yes this could be a thing though i’d say itd be better, since vanilla is a community driven game, for a guild meeting hall instead. then putting onyxia’s head on the wall would mean something, cause your guild did it as a team.

perhaps have it function like gates of aq, where everyone in the guild, collects the resources to build the guild meeting hall. a function of guild leader would be a menu that let you build it once the materials were attained and it would spawn with your guild standard outside the front entrance. instanced off the faction’s main city, so ironforge or orgrimmar. but what would you click to enter the instance is the question.

i suggest instanced since your presence in game / off game, in sub, off sub, wouldn’t effect it. handle it sorta like the garrison as far as it being in its own instanced setting.

maybe it creates a enter guild hall button on guild members general tab in the spellbook . you just have to be in the main city of your faction to use the button. or the main city’s griffon master has it as an option and you get a cutscene flight to the spot where its located.

pretty bullish on those player numbers. there’s probably going to be a fraction of that. 1-2 million sustained at 6 months maybe. could be less.

I’m all for more original content (lvl 60) after Naxxramas. Karazhan raid lvl 60 seems like a good initial step.

How about we have the game launch before we discuss post end-game content

What’s the big draw on player housing? It just segregates you from the general population.

Luke only thought they were in there.

Rei had stolen the books when she left so yoda was like 'eh, its a dead tree so wut lulz"

Considering BFA is hot horse piss, and has more subs than that…

I think classic will be better than that, and fine.

Define the word Classic. Now explain to me how adding things to something considered classic fits?

If they want to have some servers left as is with classic and more with additions that’s ok. We are here because this version of the game is no longer playable. Adding things to it just puts us back in that predicament. I really don’t want to have to start asking blizzard for WoW Classic:Classic in a few years so I can play WoW as it once was.

oh how the tables have turned. The no changes community is at each others throats for wanting more content after naxx, while having others fighting to keep it alone. Who would have thought.

i came up with a work around. say you want a house in sw. you go to the house entrance (itd be the designated entrance for everyone who wants a house in sw), and once you’ve paid your rent or whatever, you enter an instanced house. the timer immediately starts ticking down before the maid has to clean it and you get ejected from the house back to the street.

so say you can only be in your house for 30 minutes, once every three hours.

No changes hasn’t turned on itself. If you want additional content you aren’t and weren’t part of the no changes crowd. Those people are part of the my changes crowd.

they are one in the same. The No changes crowd want classic to play like pservers.

That is the worse iteration of player housing I have ever heard of. I’ll take Garrisons over that.

No… I dont at least and I consider myself no changes. I want classic to play like vanilla. Pservers aren’t like vanilla. Pserver enthusiasts want classic to play like pservers.

well the idea is to 1) make it accessible from a city. you could perhaps have 1 in each of your faction’s cities, if you could afford it, 2) keep people from just staying in their house constantly and not interacting, which was a problem for garrisons. 3) you’re not a general, king or demi-god in classic, so you’d likely just have a small house.
