I did every last quest I could find with my main, but as I leveled alts I did the campaign quests and in some cases nothing else if they weren’t needed. I did love the plethora of quests in this expansion though, as questing and leveling are my favorite parts of the game. I did intend to go back with some alts and do more side quests, but I’m quickly running out of time.

I mean, I agree. I feel like you are implying I am pushing for some design change I’m not. I just think THIS quest being designed assuming everyone is a quester is a bit silly and potentially more frustrating than fun. Not everyone needs the tabard so it’s not like it’s a big deal but I understand the frustration anyway.

Honestly, I also, understand the frustration. But it should only be slight frustration and the player should be able to acknowledge that if they want the cool stuff then they have to put in the work. The majority of the end-game community tout this every chance they get. And the casuals just have to deal. The inverse is also true. If the speed-levelers who mainly want to get max and gear want the casual stuff then they should also have to put in the work
I did all the side quests on my first character I leveled through DF.

yup. so every character is going to have to come back and do all of these quests every time you want this tabbard.
So it’s not just ONE quest, its like 25. you can have one appearance, shared sure.
But now that I say all that and re-read it, can you even do it on a second character?

You only need ONE Tabard which is unlocked account wide, then mog it on your alts, go to Tabard Vendor in SW org and change the design, that is character specific.

But can another character do the quest and get a second one so they can edit their own tabard instead of using the same one?
You can though. The 2 alts so far that have transmogged the tabard, have completely different designs on it. The designs are character specific, but the unlocking of the tabard is account wide.
No idea and honestly I don’t know why you would need a second one, you can just transmog the appearance of ANY tabard into the Personal Tabard, then go Org or SW and change the design on every alt, each alt can have a different design.

Now the only possible downside I can see, is that it truly is character specific, if you are someone that wants all your alts to have the same design, you are going to have to change each one independently, this does not bother me though.

I ran into this as well, specifically with the two centaur dudes that want to get married. You go to the first one, do his quests, finish that part, but it still won’t let you get credit until you go talk to his boyfriend and do his part of that questline. Once all that’s done, then the two NPC’s have been moved so that they’re standing next to each other, then you can use the interview dialogue and get credit for Emberthal’s quest.
The other questline is just a centaur that’s gotten all dovey eyed for a dryad. Just knock that one out and get credit.
I think what annoyed me the most was at the end of all that, Emberthal was like “screw it I don’t need a visage”. Sigh. Thanks Ember.

There’s no incentive to do most side quests, barring mogs, pets/mounts. Following the campaign start to finish gets you to 70 long before you’re done. You could do side quests for gold but the gold reward vs time spent is one of the worst ways to make gold. Bread crumbs for 2g80s, 28g for quest completion and maybe at the end of the side quest chain the final quest gives you 50g.

And to top it all off, the questline itself was lame from beginning to end.

yeah. gotta scroll up a bit, but its unlocked for everybody.
There is a vendor in sw and one in org. they let you customize your guild and personal tabard.
I did all of those quests on various alts. Then was surprised I had to redo them all for the character I was doing the Visage quest with. It was dumb, and dare I say stupid.

See, I don’t mind doing the quests, what I do mind is doing some random NPC’s questline because he won’t talk to me until I help him with his problems, only to finish and then have to listen to him give this drawn-out farewell before immediately disappearing into the horizon without letting me actually speak to him and finish the quest.
tldr: What? I have to play the game to play the game?

I did all of these side quests when i played through Dragonflight on launch. Now my main has to do all of these quests again. Its a little bit silly
Why don’t you just do it on the character that did the quest? It’s an account wide thing. There is 0 combat so gear doesn’t matter. And obviously you are not worried about doing all of the quests on your new main.
Also this idea of peoples’ personal identities is actually very limiting. People create stories about themselves, which then in turn limits their actions. Using generalized words and descriptors give people this false sense of who they are, when their preferences and what they want to do in the moment are just that, what they want to do. People label themselves as smart, stupid, introverted, strong, brave, weak, coward…etc. when you cant label your entire being as anything. Sorry to ramble, but this tying oneself to an identity is really immature and self limiting
