Could evoker players who wish to play as dragons get access to the dragon rider models as playable forms like that of druids? The customization would be already in the game. Would be the peak of wow.
You mean play in the form of the Dragonriding mounts? You may have to explain a little more, my brain seems extra smooth today.
I’ll make a new post in detail. I’m saying as for the players who want to play as dragons why not use the in game assets, the dragon rider models, and make them playable evoker models. Think of it as if evoker had druid form they could perma turn on in the barbershop. You’d cast from your mouth like the normal dragons.
That is what it sounds like they’re asking for.
I can’t see that ever happening, because player models have to be able to do certain things. Namely, fit through doors.
There’s also the amount of screen real-estate that the player model takes up that has to be taken into account. Dracthyr are already pushing the limits of that, because the wings take up so much space it’s difficult to see things underfoot. Being a large dragon in combat would make things impossible to see, not only for yourself, but at that point you’d be blocking other players from seeing stuff as well.
If you really want to transform into a dragon and fly around i recommend either farming up the legendary staff from cataclysm and unlocking Tarecgosa’s Visage, or getting your hands on a Vial of Sands from the AH.
I wouldn’t hold my breath.
Theyd be scaled down to size ofc
Scaled down, so playable whelps?
No like druid size dragon models. This has been done before in older wow content with smaller dragon forms.
I’m surprised there’s no option to turn into your Dragonriding mount in DF yet.
The emotes alone would be worth it for me. Lol.
the updated whelp models are adorable. I love their /sleep
This would be nice, maybe smaller in size so its more like a between a whelp and a drake. I like the idea of playing a dragon but when I play these I don’t feel like a dragon.
The original intent was to make dragons playable. Dracthyr are the compromise to make that work within the established playable parameters. If they renege on that decision… they may as well remove Dracthyr altogether as their existence would no longer be necessary.
I think a super vast majority of the playerbase would trade dracthyr for playable dragons
I don’t disagree. But we’re past that as a possibility. Dracthyr are the compromise that made dragons playable.
Lol, imagine doing a waycrest as a dragon. Even scaled down it would be awful. I feel like it would be so clunky in general.
Big no thanks from me, but as long as I have the option to play as dracthyr and people don’t mind terrain giving them a first person view, I’m all for people getting it, though there’s zero percent chance of it happening.
