Dragon flying gives me motion sickness

As the tittle says the speed at which this gos is giving me motion sickness and dizziness and i find myself looking away from screen when im flying which ends up in crashing into something

. I knew when i saw this on feature on preview youtubes it was not for me . The speed and constant extreme fast motion plus the lines that it leaves behind are way to much for me. Im sure a lot of ppl like it and thats but i cant abide it

I wish they could give us old style flying where we are not in constant motion and can hover in air when we want. Let some ppl do the dragon ridding and have their fun but dont force others to do this. If it takes me an extra minute to get to a quest area it wont hurt any one but me. I will struggle in this expac a great deal i can tell

You can turn off the motion graphics

Have a play with the accessibility options. Hopefully you can find a setting that makes it ok for you.

I get vertigo when I jump off of cliffs in games.

Remove cliffs in games!!!

Wish it had an action camera. It would’ve been 100% better imo. Not for motion sickness though but for control and fun.

yes please give us old school flying. dragonriding doesnt give me motion sickness but i dont enjoy it.

It would not.

Just like flying didn’t break WoD even though the expansion (and landscape) was designed around not flying. I’m guessing they will add regular flying fairly soon - with the timing based on how well dragon flying is received and sub numbers look.

Right there with you…I am afraid to even try it, seeing all the complaints on it causing this…I don’t wanna spend my wow time puking.

This really doesn’t help much…sorry…it just doesn’t.
they should give people the option …

Play around with the accessibility settings.

Also, do you get physically ill? If so do this, get liquid Emetrol and liquid Dramamine and mix them 50/50 then take a normal size dose from the mixture. They can be safely combined (my father is a Pharmacist with a Doctorate degree, he knows more about drugs than MD’s do, so yes, it IS safe to mix them). They work different ways to control nausea/motion sickness and combing them works best overall.

Been doing this since I was a child and it solved my motion sickness issues. Obviously I can’t guarantee it’ll solve yours, but it’s worth a try.

It looks the same as normal flying. Did you turn it off?

…This isn’t quite the same as motion sickness, my guy.

Isn’t vertigo worse?

funny since they already said they’re adding regular flight later on

I’ve never experienced motion sickness a single time in my life so I cannot relate nor can I sympathize. Absolutely love dragon riding!

USEFUL EDIT:
As I researched Dragonriding a little bit more, I came across a WeakAuras UI for it that helped me a LOT. dmui-dragonriding on wago io (I can’t post links, sadness)
Benefits:

  1. It gives me something to focus on that is stationary so my peripheral vision and eye-flicks can take care of the actual driving, instead of moving my eyes all the time and triggering the sick / dizzy feeling
  2. It helps with the mechanics of Dragonriding so I’m not getting so sick trying to dive / pull up all the time - flight is steadier and easier to manage.
I haven’t gotten sick at all since installing this and changing to dynamic camera.

Old Post Follows:
The constant camera swing required to point the dragon in a direction means I am always in motion and there is no constant level horizon as a reference point for my brain, which triggers my motion sickness.
I futzed around with the settings as per a few posts here to very little effect. However when I turned on Dynamic Camera Motion somehow the effects make the motion sickness better, so there’s a fun fact.
I suspect that the mechanic would be easier to use and deal with if it were paired with a controller rather than keyboard and mouse - there’s something about that interface that helps connect the eyes to the hands. It would be nice if there were more options around how the mechanic works for those of us whose hands, eyes, and brain don’t all sync up perfectly. However it is what it is.
A regular flying mechanic would not break the expansion; I doubt there’s anywhere interesting that a flying mount could get that a determined Dragonrider couldn’t also get to. I suspect Blizzard is already planning on releasing flying as per usual, once the new has worn off of everything.
Meanwhile, we endure and hope they see this.

Same and I don’t like this method of flying. Give us our regular flying back, stop trying to delete it. OMG

As someone who has suffered motion sickness my entire life (cannot wear VR) this was a concern, was, so far dragon riding has been a blast. Lvl 65 with hours of air time and no discomfort. Very pleased developers.
