I want to lvl a mage and was wondering if I should go with Draenei for their racial heal or Void Elf because their casting are not delayed by damage.
I know race passive is not a big deal in WoW but I like both race and need to make a choice.
Tks in advance for your answers.
Me personally i would go the void elf route myself. As a mage there racial is pretty handy. I have made 2 void elves and i dont regret it
Both racials definitely have their place. As a balance druid main, a love the ability to throw myself some heals both in raids and in questing content. However, the draenei racial has a ling cooldown and is a hot instead of a burst heal, so it isn’t that good. (I know…a druid advocating direct heals over hots…)
The pushback negation is nice, but isnt a big deal in the current game. This would be incredible back in classic wow. Void elves also get entropic embrace (I think that is what it is called…at work) that repeats 5% of the damage you do. This actual scales since it is a % instead of a flat number. The more gear we get, the better this racial gets. Void elf is currently #2 for race behind dwarves 2% crit damage (for frost). Draenei is very close to the bottom with about a 0.7% difference in total dps.
0.7% is palpable, but this is largely only going to affect people playing at maximum output.
At the end of the day, play whichever race you prefer the look and feel of regardless of the numbers. If you arent playing optimally, you wont see a difference.
