Draenei do not have tentacles

From Wikipedia:

In zoology, a tentacle is a flexible, mobile, elongated organ present in some species of animals, most of them invertebrates. In animal anatomy, tentacles usually occur in one or more pairs. Anatomically, the tentacles of animals work mainly like muscular hydrostats.

Draenei “tentacles” are no more mobile than hair. They can not move under their own power and just droop with gravity.

Draenei do not have tendrils either. Also from Wikipedia:

In botany, a tendril is a specialized stem, leaf or petiole with a threadlike shape that is used by climbing plants for support, attachment and cellular invasion by parasitic plants, generally by twining around suitable hosts found by touch. They do not have a lamina or blade, but they can photosynthesize.

For one thing, Draenei are not plants. Even if you just want to define it as something like a plant tendril, they do not wrap about anything for stability and a much too thick to do so even if they wanted.

Draenei have neither tentacles or tendrils. They have flesh protrusions that behave exactly like hair.

Can they sense anything? If so they’re called barbels.

Sadly, I have time to spend looking these things up on a weekday.

I don’t think you can cite wikipedia in Azeroth.

I’ll gladly donate a couple of mine to a willing Draenei if they’re curious about the whole tentacle thing :octopus:

But what are those dingle dangly things under their chins?

Those are insulin resistance tags, see a doctor!

Long ornamental skin tags I guess. Ew.

Why should these terrestrial classifications apply to xenobiology?

Omg.

Just.

Are you taking Wikipedia as a valid source? Oh boy…

The game says otherwise:

Quite true! This isn’t the real world.

Confirmed Draenei are space plants. Is that better than space goat, though?

They’re antenna, actually. Draenei use them to smell like any other insect. Draenei are able to move their antenna at will, but choose not to as a courtesy to other members of Azeroth. It’s gross.

As a Draenei, I will tell you what they are.

Veeeeerrry sensitive.

do not move while we calibrate…the nozzle

If you ever see a Draenei standing there with one of these in his or her mouth… it is NOT like futzing with a lock of hair. You are seeing something very wrong. They are not being appropriate in public.

The game is wrong.

You mean to say a fantasy world doesn’t reflect the real world? Weird.
