Draenei content next patch

That would be pretty terrible and incredibly disappointing tbh

TBH the datamined text of the quest contents make me think it’s not pre-existing Draenei developing Man’ari features. (I agree that would be pretty disappointing.)

“Witness Velen’s prophecy of unexpected penitence unfold.”

The word “penitence” implies that there is some sort of act involved in need of repentance. So it moreso leads me to believe there is a group of Eredar seeking out their uncorrupted people.

Although, depending on the story beat they cobble up it’s possible either way.

Now let’s pray for playable felblood elves.

And for red skin/green eyes orcs too

That would be bad writing. Even the worst of Yrel’s group don’t even come close to matching the man’ari’s laundry list of atrocities (they were fanatical for Sargeras’ cause). If the man’ari can be redeemed, Yrel’s group definitely can.

I say we wait until the man’ari customizations come out before we start making judgement calls on them.

So far, it’s like it’s just a small group returning to the fold and feeling any remorse for their actions

There better be some darn good writing to explain this plot development.

Long as it’s explained, that’s all that matters

If we’re absolving true man’ari; actual literal demons who were implicite in a galaxy-wide purge of all life, anything is on the table.

It’s all just a sorry away.

For me, it needs to make sense. Explanations with holes in them are one reason the lore became such a mess.

I agree. I wonder whether the same people eager for man’ari redemption will write of Yrel’s group as irredeemable despite them being far less bad (wouldn’t be the first double standard).

I’d rather see the Sargerai from WoD return to the fold somehow. They joined Gul’dan for like a week before we brought down Hellfire Ramparts around their ears.

Next to actual man’ari they were children playing dress up.

I’m just excited to play a Man’ari. I know I voiced my opinion on yrels group, but in the grand scheme of things, I don’t have a vested interest in their overall fate

So? In a conflict between an actively antagonistic crusade Lightforging the cosmos and a downfallen one actually amenable to atonement, a guy like Velen isn’t going to automatically throw in with the first just because it’s only working on its atrocities. Especially after his personal growth in Legion.

But this is all conjecture. We have no idea what the spin will be on this particular group of man’ari, or how they’ll reconcile with their brethren, only that it involves “atonement” of some kind. That could be as significant as the remnants of KJ’s high command trying for some redemption, or as milquetoast as a hidden eredar village that was never really down with that stuff in the first place.

Conjecture it may be, but a group of former sadists that genocide-d multiple planets and wanted to destroy the cosmos vs a non-sadistic group that subjugated one planet and want to rule the cosmos at worst…

Yrel’s group still comes up the better and more redeemable than the man’ari (the hidden eredar village has potential though).

Blizzard has been steadily adding light and dark themes to the Alliance. So yeah, One figures that there will be major involvement with classic Alliance characters and some token Horde presence to pretend that they don’t ignore the Horde if it isn’t a faction war.

Only Draenei that are missing is the Broken Draenei. Krokul. Haven’t seen them in a long time since TBC and Legion.

True. I’d love to see them again.

The ones in Argus we just kind of dipped on. Took the only known working vehicle and popped on back to Azeroth. Marooning them presumably forever on a stricken world still dominated by demons.

Our Krokul we could definitely use an update on. I’d like to think the Kurenai have made real and meaningful progress at reintegration into draenei society. If the draenei can forgive man’ari demons, I’m pretty sure they can get over the “idk they kinda icky” stygma they had with the broken in TBC.
