Love it! Now give them their damn heritage set.
I wonder what it would look like thinking on it. Magi-tech based or something more Light based?
Very curious now how this will go down in-game. Velen’s vision is the obvious catalyst but, well, these are two sides of a very old, very bloody civil war coming back together. And it’ll be our fist insight into what’s going on with the demons since the end of Legion. It’s been close to a decade in-universe now since Sargeras was captured and Kil’jaden (maybe?) perma-died? So it’s anyones guess what’s pushed the eredar to even attempt this on their end.
Was just about to make a post that I assume the heritage will look like this.
This is something I have been thinking about as well, even before they announced it. “How COULD the Man’ari come back into the fold?”
I suspect that some Man’ari chose to accept the gift of Sargeras because if they hadn’t… well… we know what the Path of Glory is paved with. I wonder if these Man’ari make up the populace that acquiesced because they didn’t want them or their families to die.
Plus, we know that Sargeras wove a very elaborate promise to the Triumvirate. Many were likely swayed at the possibility of a bright future for the Eredar only to realize what that deal became when it was too late.
Will be interesting to see what unfolds!
Would love to see a version of this OR something blingy and crystallized like the Exodar.
Velen has an man’ari son named Rakeesh who has some loyal forces. Velen even turned on the Player character to defend his son. He could try to save his son and recruit him and his followers. Never underestimate the love of a parent.
I assume most of the Eredar believed Sargeras when he told them that he would be lifting them up to new heights of power.
Draenei were in a minority following a baseless vision by Velen. And while Velen was a leader of the Eredar, it would probably seem prudent to the majority of the population to, well, side the majority vote Kil’jaedin and Archimonde.
Velen’s vision wasn’t any more believable, and when faced with an entity promising them untold power and mastery of the cosmos, most people would pick that over a life of asceticism fleeing from those same powers that are only promising you good things.
That is a awesome design for a heritage set. And it would fit all sects of Draenei culture too, so this way none of them feel awkwardly left out you know?
Can’t wait to see the Manari Paladins
[Eredar]: (To the Lightforged Draenei) “So you’re telling me I can use the Light to exert my will and dominance on the entire universe, and it’s completely acceptable so long as it’s in the name of the Light?”
[LF Draenei]: “Yeah, pretty much.”
We know they’re quite aware and we’ve fought paladin Man’ari in WoD. Tyrant Velhari led the Sargerei paladins.
I hope the Man’ari get the deeper customizations that the eredar NPCs had, with all of the green cracks and such.
I don’t have high hopes, given how lazy the Darkfallen skin for Blood Elves is, but fingers crossed.
If not with the man’ari, bust them out for drae demon hunters.
A thought occured to me, what if we are not recruiting actual eredars and its current draenei turning into eredars. It does say “new future for some of the draenei people”.
Yes the wording struck me as peculiar. In the exact regard you mention.
At first I thought Manari type skins would not be involved, because it almost sounds like current Draenei having a story, more so than other Eredar who may have been Manari or Broken.
It is a small detail, or turn of phrase, that sticks out.
I do agree, it almost sounds as if current Draenei are being allowed to be Manari, more so than Manari being allowed into the fold.
I went in the slight opposite direction. I kinda expected eredar skin tones would be the next agenda for draenei what with the warlock thing and a draenei questline so soon afterward seemed like the perfect opportunity. But when I read the description, it didn’t make sense so I thought it was not likely going to be about eredar skin tones.
Maybe the admittance of redeemed/penitent Man’ari into the fold causes a schism between the Lightforged and regular Draenei, where the Lightforged are vehemently opposed to their admission.
That is certainly a possibility, unless Blizzard decides to give the lightforged the same customization options considering, you know they also have warlocks now.
See I don’t know how much it’ll really cause issues. The Lightforged and Turalyon ultimately worked alongside Illidan, they could just accept repentant Man’ari.
