So - maybe this is evolutionary parallelism - but I think that Draenei and Trolls - the Zandalari at least, are just beast races of creatures that aren’t native to Earth, namely the stalkers in Zandalar and the Talbuk on Argus.
For Draenei, they share the same crested forehead the Talbuk have, as well as the horns and tentacles. They’ve got the same tail and hoof structure, and frankly just seem like a bipedal talbuk.
The zandalari share the wide tusks of the stalkers and the scale-like markings on the shoulders and back - and the number of digits on each limb seems to match up.
Now, I know you can compare this more to being like how Apes and Humans evolved from a common ancestor, and that this is probably what happened with these creatures - and you’re right! Same goes for the Tauren, Vulpera, furbolg - anything native to Azeroth really that wasn’t descended from a titanforged thingy.

If both got better Heritage Armor Sets, as well as subraces of broken and forest trolls. I would be happy.
But overall they are the best races. It’s just I haven’t had time to play one of them sadly.

I feel like this thread was made about me. All my ally toons are draenei and all my horde are trolls… I don’t think I’m too feral.
Idk, I feel like draenei are a step above all of us, and above the title of “beast race”
They have highly advanced technology AND are the only race capable of space travel. They’re also near immortal (Velen is like 72k or something) and probably some of the most powerful light wielders

The other beast races (Vulpera, trolls, tauren) are all pretty primitive in the way they live. They don’t even really build cities or buildings. Mostly tents/huts and such.

I’d argue that this is more due to living situations than anything else - I think developmentally they’re all on the same level. Tauren, Vulpera, and some major troll tribes have all been hunted to near extinction by outside forces. The Tauren never formed major settlements in Kalimdor due to being harassed by the Centaur for centuries - unless we look to places like Highmountain or Ordos. The Vulpera have essentially been preyed upon as an enslaved labor force for their entire lives. But - given the opportunity, both of these races show an intellect that matches their Horde brethren.
Draenei had the advantage of being the only dominant species on their world. As far as we know, there weren’t any other developed civilizations on Argus. I’m certain that if any of the “beast” races on Azeroth had the same chance, they’d develop the same way.
What about trolls?
They’ve been around forever and have been a dominant species, even warring against the elves
Yet they still haven’t developed any kind of technology or even basic buildings. They’re still very primitive in the way they live.
They seemed to only advance when exposed to the well of eternity and becoming Elves.

The zandalari empire? Which stretched further than the reach of Zin’Aszhari - and OUTLASTED IT! That’s all stonework that’s WAY beyond most human structures right now. The Drakkari LITERALLY TERRIFORMED LIKE AN EIFTH OF THEIR CONTINENT!!! They’re also more connected to the natural ways of Azeroth than even the night elves - sure they have a reverence for the wild gods - but nothing like the trolls’ relationship with the loa.

Aren’t trolls (and their elven offshoots) the only Azeroth race that didn’t evolve from a Stoneform like Vrkul and the Earthen?

Isn’t the zandalari city built around a titan seal?
I’m pretty sure that’s not all their doing.
So then really, Azeroth should be controller by the Trolls by rights.

With the constant failures and all the attempts at both killing every non-troll an summonin a blood god twice…
This will be the theme of the next expansion - World of Warcraft: Warlords of Azeroth. The Horde races will be the “advanced” and “civilized” ones and the Alliance races will be the “primitive” ones.
