Dracthyr's wings glow

Are they supposed to have glow effect when they cast some spells. It even shown in the new cenimatic. But why can’t I see this effect in game no matter whatever spell I used?

Boss fights are pretty much a spaghetti of particle effects to a point I even lose my mouse cursor. I believe we should opt for less spaghetti

FFXIV has a great mechanic where you can turn off other players spell effects.

You can with turn them off completely, or just keep the essential ones like ground targeted heals or DK barriers Ect.

WoW needs to do this.

The glow in the wings is bugged for some customisations. It sucks, but until it’s fixed you run the chance at not seeing the wing glow. I never see it either. Not unless I cave and add one of the customisations that enable it. :frowning:

Edit: Spelling

well, thanks for letting me know this. I never should put too much faith in Blizzard.

Afaik they only glow (quite a lot in fact) when you use the AOE Blue spell that requires holding your key to empower it (forgot the name, sorry lol).

PS: Eternity Surge!

They glow, or rather are supposed to, for any empowered spell. Different effects for each. Reddish for Flame Breath, starry for Eternity Surge, etc. It’s just bugged right now is all.

If you want to see em, put any sort of fin on and it will prolly appear.

What do you mean it’s bugged? I see them glow just fine.

It’s not bugged for everyone. It’s bugged for certain customisations.

I had no idea.

That’s sad. :confounded:

I just googled someone posed a solution. You must choose “Spines” for your throat, then it works.

Spines or any sort of fin basically anywhere. I just sorta lucked into the no spines and no fines combination. :stuck_out_tongue:

But that would be borrowing from a totally inferior game which is hated completely and utterly by the WoW fanbase.

It’s bugged, been reported on the beta forum over 2 months ago, theirs a work around its attached to your dracthyr cosmetic, you can fix it easily at the barbershop.

Attach any “Fin” cosmetic to your Dracthyr should fix it. Without getting into too much details of what works and doesn’t.

Currently I’m running the fin option on my tail to have the glow. Hopefully fixed before launch.

Glad I’m not the only one who loses their cursor. Sucks when you can’t quickly yan target the right mob either. Has made targeting the elites during primal invasions a real pain.

It’s Blizzard, probably won’t be looked at till three expansions down the line.

I understand, atleast theirs a work around the issue.

I prefer “spikes” on my tail, but having “Fins” on it isn’t to much of a visual sacrifice to get the full visuals.

While yes this bug shouldn’t be a thing, and been reported over 2 months ago, atleast it’s not completely lost and can still get the wing glow.

True enough, I didn’t even know about the Wing glow till someone mentioned it. I completely neglected any fins or the like on my Dracthyr
Had to adjust accordingly. Thankfully the Barbershop is free for now.

Except for the thousands that went over in droves last summer, right?

Ps. I know this is sarcasm, but FFXIV does a lot of things right that WoW doesn’t. And vice versa.
