I highly encourage the nerf to be recalled.
If the excuse for said nerf is to prevent “advantages” in old world content, rather than slowing Dracthyr down as a whole, why not allow this new dragon flying in old world content as well? If it is planned for a later patch, then simply disallow Dracthyr from using it in old-world until everyone else can as well and let them keep their speed.
- Personally I dislike how the Soaring was handled, and I would’ve like to have seen it implemented similarly to Running Wild for Worgens. Having it without a cooldown and essentially have it equal to your regular Dragon-Riding mounts. It doesn’t make much sense to me that Dracthyr are already restricted to a 5 minute cooldown on what is just the equivalent to a mount anyway, and now a mount but worst.
- As it is right now, I don’t think I’d use the Soar Racial at all beyond the first “Wow, this animation is nice, shame it’s just a less efficient mount.” -and then going back to my more efficient mount.
------ The Rework
Making it like a mount form, but when on the ground it’s just your base run speed.
EDIT: Base Run speed while in “form” would play the hover animation on the ground.
- Can gather herbs/resources while in this “form” |ex. Flight Form for Druids
- Can’t fight in the “form”
- Dismount upon entering combat |ex. Zen Flight for Monks
- I feel Soar would be useful in this state without being broken.
