Dracthyr Soar and a few important questions

Seeing as Soar is going to become full Dragonriding it would be nice to also find out the following:

  1. Will the timer still be a 1-3 min cooldown or will that be changed?
  2. Will the Dragonriding talents effect Soar?
  3. Can you still opt in to have the ride along mode with Soar?
  4. Will you be able to do the Dragonriding Races with Soar?
  5. Seeing as druids are getting full Dynamic Flight will Dracthyr get it as well later on?

Knowing some of this ahead of time will be helpful in our plans of what to do for the upcoming content. And for those still upset over it. Remember this is just the first in a line of things we are being given. Getting mad at Blizzard when we don’t know all that is involved in the current upcoming content is a bit silly and don’t help us get the answers to the questions we have.

They said the Soar will become full dragon riding with all talents, it means they will probably remove the cooldown and alow us and druids into the races.

About the ride along, i’m sure that Dracthyr will not be able to do that, by obvious reasons. :joy:

Also it will come to us at 10.2.5 patch, while druid will need to wait until the next expansion to get it.

I don’t see why not you get turned into a whelp why couldn’t you fly along the Dracthyr?

They are not big as the dragon mounts and they have humanoid shape. Would be very weird another player sitting on a Dracthyr.

The only way it could be possible is if, instead of a sit, they make the passenger hanging on dracthyr arms.

  1. They said reduced cooldown, no clue what that means yet. My best guess is that all of the reductions you get with dragonriding talents will be baseline so you can get it down to 1 minute out of the dragon isles.

  2. Yes. Dragonriding talents are going to be phased out and made baseline next expansion.

  3. Unlikely

  4. Also unlikely. Dragonriding races force you onto a mount.

Soar is going to be functionally the same, with the added benefit of now being able to use vigor, and i assume have whirling surge. I hope by 11.0 they decide to beef it up all the way into a mount, like running wild for worgen.

wrong.

For Dracthyr it will come at 10.2.5. Confirmed by devs on twitter.
Only druids will have to wait until 11.0

I don’t think we are on the same page here you don’t ride along the Dragonriding player you turn into a whelp and fly beside them. So why couldn’t you do that with a Dracthyr getting ready to Soar? I don’t think anyone would be able to ride a Dracthyr.

Why no on 5? Druids are getting dynamic flight form why couldn’t the Dracthyr choose between Dragonriding or old world flying? The animations exist already.

Haha, could you imagine if we’d be able to carry a player like we do with Rescue, while soaring!?

Blizz! Please make this happen as a Gylph while normal two person just makes the rider a small drake, like current Dragonriding.

This is the main question I would like answered.

I don’t remember anything about “all talents,” and the cooldown will still exist. Just “shorter.”

We also get cancelled from dragonriding the moment we hit the ground and don’t benefit from the gathering perks.
