Since there is still time. I really hope that the creators of the new expansion will change their thoughts on having a new race. Dragons are supposed to be large and grand; making them small is just silly (to me).
Rather (and this is just an idea) just make all current races be able to become Evoker’s. If they choose to help out the dragons then they will get additions to their character…aka; give them a dragon tail and wings. This way all heroes of wow can be their favorite race and still be able to transmog gear. This will also allow everything the creators have already put into the game to still work. The class can still fly and can still do all the abilities, because the race will be imbued by the dragon essences.
Just my thoughts…really hope they read this and others also agree.
they wanted full sized dragons. capture the fantasy of playing one. This was the best they could do. not as cool as full sized dragons but I think it’s a fair compromise
I wasn’t supporting the idea of additional class or race to begin with, but their implementation doesn’t make me feel any discomfort.
Having a race which can only be one class and vice versa makes it unique and less likely to be overpopulated.
I know they are stepping away from restrictions and original lore, but I’m always in support of limitations - it adds flavor and fantasy.
I also think they are fine the way they are. I doubt I’m going to play one, but I don’t mind them at all.
Maybe in time they can ,more than likely they were just born and youngsters will always look cute ( never seen one that wasn’t even a gator) so time time they put on bulk and develop horns and large wings .
They seem to be pretty large still and making playable dragons was gonna be hard enough in any sense really. You can’t beat the fantasy of actually being one though. The only improvement I would make is just letting them choose any mortal/humanoid form instead of restricting it as they have.
I like the idea of being a dragon and they look fine, but alot of people would also enjoy being able to be; let say; a Night Elf with wings and a dragon tail. Instead of having to be a dragon/humanoid…
I understand they aren’t full dragons, but I still believe it would be a bettor story if us heroes could be chosen to take the essence of the dragonflight’s and help. Rather than become a full on half dragon/humanoid.

I wouldn’t mind if they changed it to most races being able to be evoker, and having the dragon form be part of being an evoker instead of being tied to a specific race.
They already came up with the idea and made the models. They’re not pulling a 180 on something that took time and resources to make.
Oh yes, I would definitely love to see another class dominated by humans, night elves, and blood elves with the occasional orc.
No, no Covenants 2.0. The vast majority of people who trudged through Shadowlands aren’t in a mood to put up with that under another coat of paint, and the pushback against the rental power systems of the last three expansions is precisely why they’re going back to talent trees in Dragonflight.
