i’m 50/50 on the new model. i mean, it fits with how i make my lizardman-mage in… every game i can make them in, but it’s not what i’d really choose for a dragon-race, y’know?
No, you should present yours and allow others to present their own. You can’t do that with a poll. You’re literally dismissing anything that isn’t one of your three choices. Hell, you don’t even offer the option of ‘other’, or ‘none of the above’.
It’s not your job to collect the information. Let Blizzard worry about that. The only thing you need to worry about is giving them information to collect.
It’s the very nature of your little poll. You aren’t tallying anything that isn’t one of the three options you presented. Anything other than what you listed literally does not count.
This poll won’t accurately represent anything as the amount of players who visit the forums is so ridiculously small. The only way a poll would be effective is if Blizzard sent it (probably via email) to every single paying player and every single player responded. Sample groups don’t represent the whole and are a poor way of trying to do so.
I’ll say 1 but with the caveat that I hope that what we have seen isn’t final and some adjustments are done and that options are plentiful.
My biggest problem with them is that their heads just seem too small to me. If they were to make them bigger so they don’t look too pinheaded or have larger options I’d be happy. I don’t see their slimness as a problem, but I also wouldn’t care if there were beefier options available.
I would like for Dracthyr models to be re-imagined with a more old-fashioned philosophy.
What I mean by that is that I would like to see revisions to make the male models more broad-chested, heroically built, and testosterone-influenced while the female models get adjustments to make them more graceful and feminine. Ideally, this wouldn’t be necessary and we’d get a bunch of body sliders for customizing our characters’ builds a la ESO; but if that is off the table, I want my dragons built to the same standard as all the other races - to serve as archetypal avatars whose appearance maximizes the fantasy of playing that particular race. Dragons are majestic, strong, graceful, and throughout literally all of World of WarCraft’s history, have been portrayed as sensual and possessed of tenacious pride-bordering-on-vanity. They should be idealized versions of the mortal races with minor cosmetic differences, and when they enter a room, everyone should notice. It’s a dragon, after all.
I feel these themes should be honored in the redesign, and the redesign should begin with a unique rig that is better suited to support an amped-up vision of the Dracthyr race.
Well, especially so when you consider both the fact that the vast majority of WoW players don’t use the forums, and that the forums are generally considered a bastion of negativity. People are more likely to complain about something they do not like, than post about something they do.
For that Dracthyr I was just happy they went with a proper reptilian look. Slim and athletic. No breasts on the females, and not the typical beefcake Blizz makes of the males. They’re perfect, to me anyway.
