How neat would it be if the future dracthyr Heritage armor worked something like this…
Imagine if for their heritage quest line the dracthyr are choosing a new visage that better matches their relationships with the mortals of azeroth.
By the end of the quest line, depending on which race you choose and if you’re exalted with them, your drac gets a second visage in the form of one of the other races.
In addition, the heritage armor you receive is that race’s heritage armor.
Your dracthyr would be able to change visage to a different mortal race, but at the cost of the race’s reputation by one rep level.
If they added more visage forms, I’d be happy, I wouldn’t even care if the older race visage forms had new customization options. I want to play as something I identify myself as.
Going to happen regardless of heritage armor. I’m just waiting for male Human visages and the ability to never see the Dracthyr form ever, even in combat…
A choice that should’ve been made when they first shift into their visages in Stormwind/Orgrimmar, meaning at character creation. Dracthyr should’ve just been the class, available to all races with the race being the visage. It’s probably too late for them to uproot everything and implement that correctly, so the next best thing is to just let Dracthyr change their visage to any race at the barber.
I do like the idea of adding in a quest chain to find your visage. Maybe you do a couple of quests that kind of introduce you to the races available for your faction, maybe you do a quest or two for a member of each race that involves learning a bit about them as a people. Then you choose your visage and do a few more quests that plant you as part of that race.
I do like the thematic appeal of it. I wasn’t very moved by Wrathion teaching me how to create a visage just by talking about it. I was far more interested when Ebyssian was talking about his time living among the Highmountain Tauren. I have no emotional connection to the current blood-elf visage my Dracthyr currently has, and would much prefer one of another race.
I don’t mean literally changing you’re playable race. I’m talking about the visage form.
That short story with chromie makes it clear that a dragon’s chosen visage form is very important to them. So it’d go against that if dracthyr players could just change their visage form willy nilly to w/e ever race they feel like day by day.
So there needs to be a draw back. Other wise you’d essentially be having race change at your beck and call just by playing a dracthyr.
